Once arrived at the estate, Lucian was urgently brought to his bedroom. He sat on the bed, while waiting for the doctor.
The physician rushed to his quarters shortly afterwards and examined him thoroughly.
"It's nothing serious. He will heal within two days," the man stated before leaving the room.
Elise, who Cynthia hadn't seen for a long time, sat beside Lucian as if it were the most natural thing to do when his wife, the grand duchess, stood beside his bed!
Outrageous! How can he bear such insolence?
Unable to ask him, Cynthia inhaled deeply.
"Elise, don't you have work to do? I, His Highness's wife, am here to assist him in case he needs help. You might resume your tasks," she firmly stated, without grinning as she would usually do. She was too exhausted to put on an act after using that much mana.
"His Highness wouldn't want—" Elise halted, glancing at the grand duke who gave her a nod of agreement.
