As the carriage rode along the paved road, shaking due to the rain, Cynthia sat inside, looking through the glass window. The scenery was blurred by the heavy rain, making it impossible to see anything beyond the drops of water.
"Stop the carriage," she ordered.
"Y-yes?" The horseman stuttered, surprised by her sudden command.
"I said, stop the carriage," Cynthia repeated in an annoyed tone.
The driver halted the carriage, still unable to comprehend the reason behind her odd order.
Upon hearing the creaking sound of the carriage door, he gasped, turning around to see her stepping outside.
"Your Highness! You mustn't! It's raining and you will fall sick!"
"Just stay in here, will you? I'll be back soon." She grinned as she reached the front where the horseman was seated, his anxiousness evident from his complexion.
The man was unable to say another word. The grand duchess began walking away and stood beside the road.
