"Have you perhaps been preparing for this to happen?" He questioned in a little low mocking tone.
His question caught Cynthia off guard. She pursed her lips and smiled softly at him, hesitant to speak, her fear of him leaving her still there.
"Is it wrong for a wife who is spending the night alone with her husband to make…some preparations?" Cynthia asked back, averting her gaze, as if she were shy, with the most innocent face she could make. She did intend for this to happen but it was better than she expected and better than how she recalled it in her past life.
Perhaps he would like it better if she acted shy, the way the noble ladies behaved whenever they talked about something romantic related to their husbands.
