Faris's mind seemed to have been filled with nothing but the scent of that fox's scent as soon as he laid his eyes on her.
Without thinking he had shifted and sprinted after her. He knew deep in his bones that she was his mate.
There was no mistaking the scent which had ignited this fire inside of him like a volatile liquid finding a spark.
But who was she?
Where had she come from?
He sprinted as fast as he could with his bushy tail waving behind him in excitement. She was fast as she zigzagged her way, leading him towards the training arena.
He could hear her frantically beating heart, the blood pumping in her veins, her fur coat shining as if it had been studded with small diamonds. But she wouldn't stop running, her paws so agile and elegant against the ground.
He tried to pounce on her, to pin her on the ground but she swiveled left just in time and kept moving.
