"I won't go! I won't go! I won't!"
Astra had just finished getting ready when she heard Theron's fierce voice. She quickly rushed to the main room and was astonished to see flower vases broken and almost everything else was scattered. Near the door was the queen and Ramiel, while Theron was standing in the middle of the broken glasses. From the look of things, he was fuming and probably the one who created the mess as he was holding a vase on his hand. The only question in her mind now was why.
"Theron, we have to go. Right now!" the queen said her voice void of emotions. She took a step forward, but Theron threw the vase in front of her as sweat dripped from his forehead due to anger. He did not stop there and took another vase from the table threatening to throw it.
Astra gasped shocked to witness this side of Theron. He seemed totally different from the innocent and jovial Theron she acquainted with. It was like another person was standing there and not her innocent Theron.
"I said am not going anywhere! I won't go!" he roared and crushed the vase to ground. He was out of control.
"Theron! Stop this childish behavior right now. The others are waiting..." the queen said equally angry but could not finish her statement due to her stinging throat. It was not easy at all to deal with Theron when he was furious. She knew better than anyone else. After all he was her beloved son whom she had trained on her own.
Theron grabbed his hair and pulled it as if he was in pain. He staggered backwards and ended up stepping on a piece of sharp glass.
"Theron," Astra called out worriedly when she saw blood flowing from his leg. Without a second thought, she hurriedly but carefully walked towards him.
Theron turned and looked at Astra's figure approaching. The anger inside him dissipated and was replaced by worry. He watched silently as she evaded all glasses and only when she was standing before him did his worry lessen.
"Beautiful wife, did I..." his statement was cut off short when he saw her bending to his legs.
"You are bleeding," she whispered worriedly.
"It's okay. It doesn't hurt," Theron said trying to ease her concern.
"You need to get it dressed before you lose more blood."
Astra looked around for a fabric to tie on the wound, but she could not find one. She then looked at her dress and tore a piece of cloth not thinking much. After tying it on his wound, she let out a sigh of relief then stood up.
There was total silence in the room and only did she realize there were other two people around apart from her and Theron. She looked at the queen and as usual, she had a questioning look directed towards her. Not only the queen, but also Ramiel had an unfathomable gaze yet he could not hide the surprise in his eyes.
"Your majesty, please may I ask what is happening here?" Astra asked what she had been meaning to ask since she entered the room.
The queen narrowed her eyes at Astra amazed by her boldness to question her. Even though it was daring, the queen was not offended but rather was intrigued by her character. But she could still not trust Astra, not when she was an enemy who bored hatred for their kingdom.
"Who are you to question me?"
Astra did not waver and replied, "It is only right to know why my husband is acting that way. He is not an angry person."
"And what do you know about him? A day isn't over and you have already started taking advantage."
"If caring for him is termed as taking advantage then forgive me your majesty but I won't stop."
The queen wanted to smile at her answer but suppressed it. This little princess was quite something.
"You already care for a person whom you have only known for less than a day? How kind of you, Princess," the sarcasm in the queen's voice did not escape Astra's ears.
"Is there a specific time range recorded for which a person should begin caring for another?" Astra knew her words were out of line but she could not just take in whatever they threw at her. She would never allow anyone look down on her.
"I see you also have a sharp tongue. Isn't that a bad trait being a princess?"
"This same trait helps to speak up for myself when facing injustice, your majesty," Astra replied. Though she appeared composed outside, she was still that innocent girl who was still learnig to adapt to the cruel world.
The queen did not say anymore to her. She turned to Theron who was looking or rather scrutinizing his wife's face for some time now.
"I'll let you off now since you are hurt. But you cannot escape lunch," the queen's word were directed to Theron, and then she matched out of the room, followed by Ramiel.
Astra was left confused as she was yet to grasp what had happened before her arrival. She turned to Theron about to ask but he beat her to it.
"Mother wanted us to have breakfast with those bad people but I refused. She was forcing me, so I got a little... just a little angry."
Astra looked around at the mess and compared it to the 'a little angry'. It was nothing near to little. She looked up at Theron who was gazing at her eagerly waiting for her to say something.
She sighed then at last said, "It's not good to throw things around. You got hurt because of those same glasses,"
Theron nodded instantly before saying, "I won't do it anymore."
"If you do it I won't talk to you anymore."
"I won't!" Theron promised raising his hand as if taking a vow.
"Good," Astra said rubbing his hair adorably. "And thank you too." She added her hand still on his hair.
"What for?" Theron asked pursing his lips while cutely blinking his green eyes at her.
"For saving me earlier. Am sorry you had to lie to your mother because of me."
Theron smiled shyly. "I didn't want her to shout at you. What if she took you away from me? I would feel bad."
The same feeling of warmth struck Astra's heart, and she could not help smiling joyfully. She felt like she had found her home in Theron. A home she wished to reside in for as long as she could.
"I won't go away. But for now, let's go get your wound cleaned up before it gets infected."
Theron obliged obediently and quietly followed Astra to their bedroom a satisfied smile bracing his lips. He was genuinely happy to have her, and he would not let anyone take her away from him.
