As Hope continued to eat I grabbed the clothes that the flying dragon's city's 3D printers custom-made for me and started changing on the spot.
The clothes that I picked were all black perfectly fitting combat boots with steel plating, field pants with Integrated knee guards and a tactical belt, a combat shirt with rolled-up sleeves and Integrated elbow guards, a trench coat, and fingerless gloves with Integrated knuckle guards.
I turned around only to see Hope looking at me with a wide open mouth that still had a bunch of unchewed food.
"What?"
I asked.
"How can you be a bachelor for 80 years If you look that good even with those scars of yours?"
The puzzled Hope asked after swallowing down her food.
"I don't do relationships"
I answered as I sat down on the chair facing Hope.
"So what do you do?"
After hearing this question I gave It a little bit of thought before answering.
"I kill for a living"
I said while grinning showing off my white sharper than normal teeth with longer-than-normal sticking-out canines.
"Yeah you know what you're hopeless, I pity you"
Hope said with genuine pity evident In her eyes which for some reason pissed me off lightly.
"Just keep eating big t*ts"
I barked back.
"You... you know what forget It! Hmph!"
Hope shot back as she obediently dug Into the food.
Once she was done she stormed off to her room and after an ungodly amount of time came out wearing more or less the same clothes that she wore in my timeline the only difference being that they were bigger.
"Why do you have bigger clothes just lying around?"
I couldn't help but ask only to get rebuked Instantly.
"Shut It steroids not you're business, let's go or didn't you yet find a gold shop?"
Instead of answering I emptied the duffle bag and stuffed It full of gold.
Once we stepped out from Hopes apartments staircase onto the pedestrian road full of people I couldn't help but comment on the full of vitality metropolitan city.
"That's 20 million people for you"
I said as looked at the citizens of the face-slapping protagonists country.
"You're talking as if you're not c*ineese"
Hope commented as we started walking towards the gold shop's direction, my height and size forcing the numerous people to subconsciously part to the sides.
"Woah that's a foreigner, are all of them that big?!"
"Do you think his hair Is natural or died?"
"What the hell, what's wrong with his eyes, or am I seeing things?!"
I heard the shocked and curious people covertly point fingers and gossip.
"Oh I'm not c*ineese that's for sure"
I answered.
"What?! But you're c*ineese Is perfect!"
The shocked Hope who had come to the misconception that I was a c*ineese of foreign descent because wewe been conversing In her language the entire time exclaimed.
"It's my AI, thanks to It I can speak In any language fluently"
I said while tapping my head.
"I see..."
Hope muttered as she tucked her hands Into her black spiked leather jackets pockets, sensing the change In mood I decided to ask what was going on with her.
"Spill it, what's wrong?"
I asked as I slowed down my walking speed and matched hers.
"How do you do It, I mean how aren't you the least bit bothered about the things you see and experience In youre world?"
Hope asked as she looked up at me and in her purple eyes I could see It, the stress, fatigue, and mental scars she incurred during her brief time in the post-apocalypse.
"You want the long version or the short one?"
I asked.
"Short one"
"Smoking, alcohol, and s*x that's how I deal with It, speaking of which"
I said as I took out a cigarette from my crumbled pack and lit it up with a wore down zip lighter.
"Tch! I'm not really Into smoking and drinking as for s*x I don't have a boyfriend"
Hope complained.
"Want one"
I said while puffing out clouds of smoke as I extended my cigarette pack.
"I just said... you know what f*ck It"
Hope said as she took out a cigarette and lit It up with my lighter.
"F*ck It's good..."
Hope muttered as she exhaled the smoke from her lungs like a pro.
"And here you said youre not Into It"
I remarked.
"I quit smoking until now"
Hope said while giving me the stink eye to which I just snickered evilly.
"So did you quit drinking too?"
"Yeah..."
"For how long?"
"F*ve years"
Hearing this I couldn't help but look at Hope with a knowing look.
"So you've been that type of girl during you're tee*age years huh?"
I said only to receive a venomous stare.
"Hey, hey I'm not judging, I started smoking and drinking when I was t*irteen"
I said while raising my free hand into the air while the cigarette between my lips continued to burn.
"And the s*x part?"
Hope asked as she narrowed her eyes.
"60 years ago when I turned 20 just before I signed up for service, you?"
I answered truthfully.
Hope chose not to answer.
Why do I have the feeling that despite her look and character she's still a virgin?
I couldn't help but think but wisely decided not to pry further.
It didn't take long before we reached the gold shop the lucky turtle that I found online.
As we stepped inside the sales lady froze for a second but she quickly snapped out of her shock of seeing a literal giant enter the shop and Immediately spoke up.
"Hello sir and mam, are you here to buy jewelry...?"
"Do you exchange gold?"
I asked Interrupting the woman's sales pitch.
"Yes we do, but we only accept gold with high purity…"
The lady answered.
"Then get you're manager here, don't worry he will definitely be pleased with the amount we have"
I said once again Interrupting her, I could tell the woman was getting annoyed but she still kept her professionalism.
Soon the manager came over and as he did I took out one gold bar from the backpack and that much was enough to stun the manager.
"How much exactly do you have sir?"
The shrewd manager asked while looking at the opened duffle bag in which he could see at least several more gold bars.
"In total It's 21 kilograms"
As the manager heard this he gasped In shock.
"Please come this way sir and mam"
The manager said politely as he pointed with his hand towards the back of the counter.
"Sure lead the way"
I said as I picked up the duffle bag.
Once inside the manager's private room, the manager called over an examiner, and after he confirmed the gold purity and weight he left.
"It's exactly 21 kilograms of 24K, do you have proof of ownership for the gold sir?"
The manager asked with the best smile he had and a polite tone as possible.
"Nope"
I answered decisively.
"I'll be honest Mr.."
"Dracula Von Death"
"Mr Von Death without proof It's Impossible to guarantee that this gold was obtained legally"
The manager said while studying my facial expressions which to his disappointment were that of a dead fish.
Well, I did basically hire someone to rob a bank.
I thought evilly In my mind.
"Don't sweat It man, this gold Is the Inheritance my parents left me, It has been In our Von Death family for generations that's why there's no receipt"
I lied through my teeth but the manager seemed to buy It at least he pretended to.
