Chapter 14 - Xavier Martin's POV

''Hailey!!'' I shouted her name as I launched to attack her but before i could touch her, her hand grabbed my arm firmly and threw me into the water with one swing.

''What the hell!'' I said when I came out of the water and saw Hailey run towards me, I straightened up when I saw a fist coming to my face, I quickly dodged but another came with force hitting my abdomen which sent my falling backwards, I stood up immediately and tried fighting back but every move I was well countered, I tried running off but before I could Hailey caught me and threw me to the ground, I tried my best to stand but I couldn't, when I finally found some strength to Hailey flew from where she stood and landed on then started landing punches on me, she raised me up from the ground with no effort and scratched my face against the ground she continued the act.

''Hailey! stop!!'' I said as I tried to escape from her when I finally did, I landed a punch straight to her face. Because of the gravity of the situation, I had failed to hold back my strength, so I punched her with all my strength and the force pushed her to the ground.

I froze in shock.

No way in hell a mere human would've survived that blow. But I looked down on her and she seemed only unconscious.

That would have to do for now I said to myself. I ran towards Kiara, but I couldn't pass, and it looked like I was too late. An all too familiar shield was wrapped around her. A silver shield.

I could only stand there and watch as her red hair began bleaching to a silver shade.

''NO, NO, NO! *UCK! Kiara!!'' I could only watch as she screamed out of pain and fell, but I ran as I knew the spell casted to not let me pass was broken and caught her bringing her back to dry land. I looked back at the tree, but it began withering and soon turned to dust. Just when I thought the dust will evaporate it came flying towards us.

I had already began gathering Kiara in my arms ready to flee when the dust encircled her neck and in its place a silver chain lay.
