Alex's POV
"Hunter, after reflecting on things for a while, I believe you should consider getting married again. I sense that I'm not able to give you everything you deserve. Please seek out someone special to marry. You could both tie the knot in just a month," I said with surprising calmness. Did I truly love him? Maybe.
"Alright, I will. There's a businessman I'm acquainted with who is looking to marry off his daughter. I'm willing to marry her."
At this moment, I was supposed to feel jealous, but surprisingly, I didn't. We'll be meeting the businessman's daughter in two days.
2 days later
I heard voices coming from the living room, prompting me to rush downstairs. There stood my husband with a stunning woman—her long, curly hair framed her foxy grey eyes and upturned nose beautifully. Dressed in a flowing black gown that showcased her creamy white legs, she took my breath away and quickened my heartbeat.
A flicker of recognition stirred in my mind as I tried to recall where I might have seen her before. Just then, Hunter turned to me.
"Alex, this is Ava, my fiancée. Ava, meet Alex, my wife."
"I feel like I know you from somewhere. But where could it be?" she pondered aloud.
As I gazed into her captivating eyes, a memory suddenly clicked into place in my mind.
"I ran into you at St. Angel Hospital, and I have to say, you're absolutely stunning," I blurted out, my cheeks flushing as I realized what I had just said. I quickly looked down, unable to meet Hunter's eyes.
"Thank you, Alex, but I think you're even prettier and cuter," she replied, her gaze fixed on me. My face felt even warmer than before.
"I can see there's a spark between you two. This might just be a perfect match for us," someone remarked.
Maybe it is.
