Chapter 3: The Divergence
Rusty's heart raced as the intruders surrounded him. With a surge of adrenaline, he used every ounce of his training to break free from his restraints. A fierce fight ensued, and despite being outnumbered, Rusty managed to subdue the attackers and escape the room.
As he made his way through the maze of corridors, he reached a control room. He saw the second device—a compact, ominous package—alongside a series of blueprints and schematics.
He quickly accessed the blueprints, realizing they were for a second bridge, one not yet on their radar. Rusty sent the details to Eleanor. "There's another device—hidden on a bridge that's not scheduled for inspection. I need immediate backup."
Eleanor's voice was urgent. "We've dispatched a team to assist you. We'll send coordinates for the secondary bridge. Rusty, you have to be quick. The countdown is approaching fast."
Rusty headed towards the exit, but just as he was about to leave the building, the masked figure appeared again, blocking his path.
"Going somewhere, Malone?" the figure taunted. "The bridge device is already set in motion. It's too late to stop it now."
Rusty's eyes widened. "What's the real plan here? Why the chaos?"
The figure grinned. "You'll understand soon enough. But first, I think it's time you meet our other guest."
From the shadows, another figure emerged—a woman with a familiar face. It was Jenna, Rusty's colleague from Blackwaters, bound and unconscious.
The figure presses a button on a remote, and a video feed of Jenna's location appears on the screen—a precarious ledge overlooking a deep ravine. The countdown on the secondary device starts flashing.
