Year 4025
[The world moved on and left me behind to survive a dying Earth that everybody else abandoned.]
Relentless climate change and centuries of war left our own planet as desolate, which was a wasteland. The vibrant cities I once knew lie now in ruins, covered in smog and despair.
As a last resort to save humanity, IRIS Corporation came up with the [QUANTUM portal], revolutionary technology that could open up gateways to new, untouched worlds.
"This is our salvation!" the IRIS representatives declared.
"Through these portals, we shall leave this devastation behind and start anew!"
The world listened, desperate for a way out, and thus began the [Quantum Exodus]. Long lines formed to leave Earth, their faces a mix of fear and hope as they took the very first step into the unknown.
But in the chaos of that final exodus, I got left behind. A small child lost in the sea of bodies rushing toward the shimmering light, I watched as my parents disappeared through the portal without me. The gateways, once beacons of salvation, became symbols of my isolation.
The streets I wander now are ghostly silent, overgrown with weeds, the remnants of a world gone by that has moved on without me.
Since that day, I've fought to survive in the ruins of Æsir City. Every step through the decayed rubble reminds me of what I have lost, but something out there calls with secrets hidden in darkness, waiting to be found. And I'm going to find them, whatever it takes.
