"Don't hold the grudge from the past, you still seem to be alive and kicking." George Said with a smile on his face but his eyes are showing concern that shows his true emotions.
"Not kicking, just alive barely alive. Can't say anything about later." James said as he looks at George and everyone he used work with there were few unfamiliar face holding fire arm in their hands but that wasn't main concern for him at the moment as everyone life at risk. If this gangster can be of help then it wasn't bad with staying with them.
"Is that all of us left now?" James asked with a sad face and voice to George.
"Yes." After saying 'yes' George remain silent for seconds, the awkward dead silent was remain within group for few moments
"I'm sad to hear this but we can't stay here for more time. We need to move to the main office." James said with a serious face as he has to keep his mind rational enough and can't let anything overwhelm him in such a dangerous world.
"You right, we were heading towards the same place then." George said as he looked around the explosion site behind them.
"You got one hell of luck to survive such an explosion boy. If it was us we would have turned into ashes." George said with a grim look as the devastating power of explosion was something normally human won't be able to get out alive.
"I wouldn't say luck as more fucked up thing might await us, if we are still not dead yet." James said with a painful expression on his face as pain is running through his body like fire ant's bites.
"You don't seem to be in good shape and these people are still alive or they passed away." George asked in a sad tone as he looked at the girl's unconscious body on the ground.
Cough cough
"I don't know; we haven't checked on them yet." James said as he lowered his gaze to look at the ground below. He doesn't look at the girls as it feels like they're all going to die.it was they're fate from the beginning.
Cough cough
Smoke from the burning cargo has reached their lungs, the burning feeling of your lung inside this dark surrounding making them feel 10 times worse as they are all going to die painful and suffocating death. George knew they had to make a decision whether it would risk their survival or keep their last bit of humanity in this dark time.
George started to walk as he made his decision, he stood next to James seeing his bad condition and said with a deep and heavy voice, "You need help boy, let me carry you for while we reach the main office building and those of you who can carry this people on your back steps forward."
Other workers look at each other face, they know each of them are tired and mentally exhausted from constantly running away from the alien monster but George tells them to help this soon to be dead another dead on this port to save them. They knew George had already made up his mind. If it wasn't he wouldn't have even talked about them and all of them were loyal brothers to George.
Minute later all of them are walking towards the main office building with sea port workers carrying injured and unconscious people on their back except for Yui as she is uninjured. James kept staring at Yui without saying anything to her. Yui kept feeling his gaze on her, she knew it was James but she chose to ignore it for a time being.
This wasn't the right time to ask for any question, the eerie feeling of darkness kept them stay alert. They just have to walk in a straight path ahead to reach the main office building and no mishap happens as silent remains even after 10 minutes have passed.
"George, can we take a break? I can't walk any more than this. I'm really tired right now; we haven't taken a break for a minute since these aliens have arrived." One of the sea port workers carrying Noah said as it's been over hours since they kept running and hiding. Their body feeling drained from all stamina, taking another step forward is almost impossible for them.
"Balkin, just a few more minutes and then we will arrive at the main building, we get a safe place to rest and can wait till any help arrives." George said to Balkin as taking rest here in out is extremely dangerous at any moment aliens can jump on them.
"George, what Balkin said is right. Every one of us is tired after running and hiding for so long, we need some time to catch our breath for a moment and we don't know if we won't face those aliens in the main building either?" Stuart said as he remembers how hell broke out as darkness descended upon them. All the people he used to work with died one by one at the hands of these alien creatures.
"Hey, We take a break for a moment not more than 6 or 7 minutes. After that we will continue to walk." Said one of the gunmen in his hand is a gun that James had before. Hearing his words, other gang members agreed to sit and take a break for a moment as they felt tired too.
They check their surroundings with the torch light, seeing this is safe, slowly all of the first lay down the unconscious people on ground and then they sit down leaning on the container cargo. George turns off the light of the torch as saving the battery of the torch is important for them. For moment only sound they heard in darkness is sound of the rapid breathing coming out their mouth as they try final got time catch their breath peacefully for a moment.
'Uhhh…where am I?' Hilary opens her eyes slowly as she feels the cold surface on her face. As she opened her eyes with her blurry vision she greeted the darkness around her.
The dream she had wasn't the dream it was reality as all the things that happened were real. Along with clear memory comes the nerve wrecking pain from her legs.
"Ahhh…my leg hurts." Hilary cried out in pain as she couldn't endure the pain of her broken knee but her cry was muffled by the strong hand over her mouth.
"You make any sound or let out words, I'm going to shoot through your head." Deep voice of man enters her ears as she feels a painfully tight grip on her mouth and cold metallic touch on her forehead. She gets scared by the threat as she looks at the gun above her forehead.
"Man take it easy, she's just a girl. There's no need for you to use guns on people." George said as he heard the blunt threat from one of the gang members. He hated them because most of the sea port workers lost their lives due to them. These cowards have killed more humans than these damn aliens.
George can't forget how his fellow mates died by gang members as they lost their mind and sense. Instead of attacking aliens they killed more humans. The heavy smell of fired bullets is still lingering around his nose, just because they gun they act as if they own their life.
While silently crying she looked around as if searching for someone, George saw her fearful reaction and turned on the aiming towards her." Don't worry you are not the only female here there are others too but unconscious."
George aims the torch light ahead of her where she can see the faces of Nanala, Kristina and Olivia, under the dim flickering light of the torch. Their face looks pale as they lost lots of blood but her eyes linger around Nanala as her body seems to be badly hurt from explosion heat burn marks. Tears start to fall from her eyes as her gaze falls upon her, "I want to stay close to her, she saved my life as she took more burns from the explosion while shielding me from the explosion heat."
Hilary tried to stand up but her hands gave up on giving her enough strength to move, they all felt bad seeing her struggle like this."
"Now, you are creating unnecessary ruckus here." The cold voice of the gang member softly resounds from behind her again.
"She just wants to sit beside her friends, just let her be." Said one of the workers as he doesn't like the way this gang member keeps pushing them to do what they want as if they own them their life.
"So, be it if she wants to sit next or stay next with them here she can but no-one will help her whether she crawls or rolls. That's for her to choose." Gang member said with a deep and cold voice. It seems he has some kind of problem with Hilary or he just hates women.
"Asshole." Hilary softly murmured underneath her breath as she heard his voice telling her to crawl or roll on such hard concrete ground.
