The two statues continued storming Luciana with assault after assault after assault.
The mage would cast Surya Ray and sent multiple deadly golden lasers toward the silver-haired woman. Just like before, she was able to deflect those attacks quite easily.
Right after that, the knight would swoop in and try to slash Luciana with its sword. Thanks to Luciana's great reflex, she was able to teleport herself away in time before the knight could reach her.
But then, as Luciana teleported away from the knight, the mage immediately launched another set of rays and the cycle continued.
"Dear Eirene, you two are perfectly in sync!" commented Luciana. "That's why you're so annoying!"
She then raised her palms, facing each on each of the statue.
"Well then, let's end this."
[Lacrima Arts, Surya Ray] [Lacrima Arts, Terra Barrage]
Luciana casted two spells at once. She sent the shining deadly rays to the knight and the earthly sharp projectiles to the mage. The attacks completely obliterated the two statues into tiny pieces.
The silver-haired woman smiled at this outcome.
"Just like before, all I needed to do is to kill them with the proper attack and at the same time in order to prevent them from reviving each other." stated Luciana. She turned her head toward the door which was overflowing with intense mana. "Alright! Time to get the grimoi—huh?"
Luciana suddenly sensed something wrong in the air. All the mana in the environment streamed together and created this massive blue whirlpool.
The fragments of the statues that were scattered all over the ground immediately glowed up in blue radiance and began to cluster together under the mana vortex. Instead of recreating the knight and mage from before, the fragments reassembled into a statue of a caped knight.
"Interesting…" commented Luciana. "This didn't happen before. Is it because this time I'm not meaning to cause harm to the temple?"
The mana whirlpool then retreated to the caped knight and disappeared on its surface. The caped knight had absorbed the immense amount of mana creating the vortex. As soon as it did that, the caped knight flew up and hovered in the air.
The statue no longer had a sword nor magic staff. Just its hands. The caped knight proceeded to lift its hand and faced its palm toward Luciana.
[Lacrima Arts, Surya Ray] [Lacrima Arts, Terra Barrage]
Two magic circles appeared around the caped knight. A golden one and a brown one. The golden magic circle shot out deadly golden lasers toward Luciana while the brown one the sharp earth projectiles.
Still looking as composed as ever, Luciana raised her hand.
{Deflect]
With a simple swish of Luciana's hand, the caped knight's attacks were scattered to the surroundings. All failed to hit the silver-haired woman.
It was then Luciana's turn to attack.
"Alright, let's see what has changed from you."
[Lacrima Arts, Surya Ray]
Twenty golden magic circles formed around Luciana and from there, shot out twenty deadly golden lasers. All were furiously accelerating toward the caped knight.
The reformed statue didn't do anything and let the golden rays hit its surface. However, the lasers could not damage the statue. In fact, the statue did not even flinch from being hit by rays and simply absorbed them all.
The caped knight raised its hand again and launched another attack.
[Lacrima Arts, Surya Ray] [Lacrima Arts, Terra Barrage]
Once more, two magic circles appeared around the caped knight, a golden one and a brown one. However, this time the golden magic circle was significantly larger than its brown counterpart. And as an effect, the golden magic circle shot out even larger deadly ray toward Luciana while the brown one still remained shot the exact size and amount of sharp earth projectiles.
"Interesting…" commented Luciana.
She raised her palm once more.
[Deflect]
Despite its increase in size, Luciana was able to redirect the deadly ray's path as well as the earth projectiles.
"Let me try a little something. Just to confirm my suspicion."
She continued to launch another set of attacks on her own.
[Lacrima Arts, Surya Ray] [Lacrima Arts, Terra Barrage]
Luciana sent another set of golden ray and, this time, accompanied with sharp earth projectiles toward the caped knight.
Just like before, the statue absorbed the golden ray into its body. While the earth projectiles simply shattered to pieces once they made contact with the caped knight, none was able to damage it.
The caped knight raised its hand once more and created the same two magic circles from before. This time however, both the golden and brown magic circle grew larger. However, since the golden one had already increased in size earlier, it still remained the larger one of the two.
"None of my attacks seemed to have worked. And they only strengthened my opponent's attacks instead." stated Luciana as she observed the battle. "Then could it be…"
The caped knight then activated its spells and launched its attack on Luciana. An even bigger golden ray and significantly bigger and sharper earth projectiles were rushing toward the silver-haired woman.
Still remaining as composed as ever, no fear traced in her eyes, Luciana lifted her hand and performed a magic technique.
[Deflect] [Redirect]
The golden ray and earth projectiles coming at Luciana suddenly turned around and completely changed direction. They were now speeding fast toward the caped knight.
Due to how quick Luciana sent the assaults back, the caped knight could not react by dodging them and instead let itself be attacked by its own magical furies.
Boom.
The caped knight was blown to smithereens. All that was left of the statue was the whirlpool of mana that was still floating in the air.
"Did I defeat it?"
As if Luciana jinxed herself, the millions of pieces of the statue flew up and revolved around the vortex. They then clustered together and reassembled into the caped knight once more. The reemergence of the statue made Luciana chuckle.
"Of course it wasn't going to be that easy."
