"I am sorry.I just woke up one day and I found out that i don't feel the same way anymore"Blaze said and he couldn't look into her eyes.
These were the words that suddenly came out from her boyfriend's lips.It was as if it was real which brought a lot of confusion inside her,but she choose to be quiet for a couple of minutes and absorb everything that he had said.
Blaze's eyes look so sad while he was staring at her.After saying those words,he looked away from her.
Crystal bursted out in laughter clapping her hands. Blaze's eyebrows were drawn together.Confusion was all over his face.
"You have improved a lot.Is that a line for a role?"she asked innocently.She tried to stay calm and relax so her voice wouldn't sound as if she was affected by his words.She wanted to think that this was just nothing but a part of his audition piece.
Blaze looked at her and shook his head.He held her shoulders.
"Crystal, listen to me please"he said in a low voice as he tried to meet her eyes.
"I don't know how to explain it to you but,"he paused as if he couldn't find the right words to continue whatever he was trying to say.
She started hearing her heart beating so fast while looking at Blaze with a lot of questions in her mind. She just wanted to think that this was a prank or nothing but part of his audition piece.
She must admit he was doing good.His words were full of emotions.
Blaze loved to be an actor so he always goes to auditions when he is available.
Crystal faced him with sadness in her eyes and heart.She wanted to help her boyfriend with his rehearsal.
"What do you mean?"she said with her brows knitted."Please enlighten me I can't understand what you are trying to say"she added looking directly at Blaze.
She couldn't understand but she felt strange when their eyes locked She couldn't explain the emotions that she could see in his eyes,it was as if everything was true.
It took a couple of seconds before Blaze reacted to what she said.She saw how Blaze's Adam Apple moved.It was as if he was feeling tensed because of how their conversation was going.
But wasn't this part of his rehearsal?why did she suddenly feel different when their eyes met?
"Crystal,I am sorry but this isn't just a rehearsal.This is what I am feeling right now.I am sorry but I think I am no longer happy
with our relationship. I realized that something has changed inside of me. I don't feel the same way anymore, I don't want to hide it from you.i don't want to act as if nothing has changed on my part and let you believe that everything is fine between us" Blaze confessed, his voice filled with genuine sadness.
Crystal's heart sank at his words, her mind racing to comprehend what he was saying.She wanted to pinch
herself, hoping that she was just in a bad dream. She couldn't believe what Blaze had just confessed to her. The love and happiness they once shared seemed to have faded away in an instant. Tears welled up in Crystal's eyes as she struggled to find the right words to say.How could her promising relationship crumbled like this. She couldn't believe that he fell out of love with her.Hiw could that happen? Her heart was in turmoil.
They had been in a relationship since they were in college.So what was he talking about? She was shocked and she couldn't find the right words to say to Blaze.
She tried to lift her cup of coffee that they had ordered when they arrived earlier at the coffee shop,but she accidentally spilled it on herself.
She felt the burning sensation in her skin.It means this was reality.She was not dreaming. Everything is real.
Blaze didn't even bother to help her wipe the coffee that spilled on her.He let her do it herself which is so unlike him.
With trembling hands,she grabbed a tissue from the top of table and wiped the coffee in her pants.
When she was done,she took a deep breath hoping at the last second Blaze would tell her ihe was playing a trick on her and everything was just part of his games.
She swallowed the lump in her throat as she tried to search for words she was going to say to her long time boyfriend and soon to be ex boyfriend if she can't fix what is happening with them.
Crystal cleared her throat.she needed to be brave and make things clear to him Though,she could feel her heart beating so fast,but she still wanted to clarify everything to Blaze.
She looked into his eyes but was disappointed when she saw that he couldn't stand her look and that confirmed her fears something was already wrong with her boyfriend.
But before she could even start to speak. Blaze beats her to it.
"Crystal,I know that we have been together for almost three years and I am sorry if it hurts you that we will be ending our relationship like this.i want to be honest to you and myself.I don't want to continue this relationship anymore.I don't want us to quarrel everyday because I can no longer return the love that you have for me.I want us to end this while we still have respect for each other.You have been so good to me and i don't want to hurt you.I want us to be friends, to be good friends"Blaze said which made her dumbfounded.
Time stood still for Crystal as she tried to process the finality of what Blaze had just said. This wasn't supposed to happen - they were meant to be each other's forever. Her mind raced with questions, doubts, and regrets. Was there something she could have done differently? Could they salvage their love? But deep down, she knew that fighting against the tide would only bring more pain.
