In the northern side of the Azure light academy, special accommodation apartments are built for teachers near the lake. Because of the opening ceremony, there were very few people in this area and most of them were the security personal performing their duty.
In one of the apartment bedrooms, a figure could be seen laying tiredly. It was none other than Imanuel who was exhausted after suffering from a sudden pain in the brain. Imanuel heard the prompt for permission to enter, and he said "yes" in a low voice.
The apartment door opened automatically, and Gariel, along with Zereth, came inside. They walked towards the bedroom anxiously.
"Imanuel!!"
Both of them called subconsciously and immediately came to Imanuel's side. Looking at the pale face of Imanuel, Zereth's face wrinkled with worry. He carefully supported Imanuel and Helped him get settled on the bed, making sure his back was comfortably propped against the headboard.
Gabriel also took out a special nutrient solution from her space ring and gave it to Imanuel for drinking, "Imanuel, you had me really worried this time. Why didn't you let me know when you were feeling uneasy?"
Imanuel took his time to drink the nutrient solution before answering his teacher calmly, "Teacher, this time I was really unprepared. The headache was so sudden that I didn't even have the time to react."
"I know you won't take your health lightly. Fortunately, I brought some instruments to keep a check on your mental power…"
Zereth, who had been watching from the sidelines all this time, was completely confused. From their conversation, he could guess that this was a common situation for Imanuel. In fact, when he heard that Imanuel was feeling unwell, his first thought was that he was finally going to differentiate, but now it does not seem to be the case.
Instead of asking his doubts aloud, Zereth chose to keep silent wisely. Anyways, Imanuel will naturally tell him when he wants to. He started helping Gabriel with setting up her instrument.
With Zereth's help, Gabriel quickly assembled the special device. She turned on the device and put a white helmet on Imanuel's head. Imanuel also cooperated skillfully. Under Gabriel's swift operation, a vitual screen appeared with different health values.
All the values on the fluctuated significantly, "Imanuel, try to relax your mental power as much as possible."
"Alright." Imanuel did as he was told, and slowly the health values stabilized. Seeing this, Gabriel couldn't help but wipe the sweat on her forhead and breathe a sigh of relief.
She observed the virtual screen carefully before turning her attention towards Imanuel, "Okay! You can take off the helmet."
Watching him take off his helmet, Gabriel continued with a solemn expression on her elegant face, "Imanuel, your condition is serious this time, and I am afraid….It will only become worse in the future…"
Zererh's heart skipped a beat after hearing this, while Imanuel, on the other hand, was obviously well aware of this fact, "Teacher, I had already expected that."
Seeing his nonchalant expression, Gabriel's felt bitter in her heart, "I wish I could do something about it….but don't worry, Teacher will do everything to help you…"
Hearing this, a gentle smile appeared on Imanuel's pale face, "Teacher, you don't have to worry about me. I have some guesses about my situation, so I will take of it."
Seeing such a beautiful smile, Gabriel was not in the mood of admiring him. All she felt was heartbroken for her student. She wanted to ask him how he planned to take care of this issue. But before she could say anything, her terminal rang.
Seeing her troubled expression, Imanuel knew that it must be something important, "Teacher, believe me, I can definitely solve it. You should go and do your work."
Gabriel was hesitant, but under Imanuel's urging gaze, she had no choice but to get back to work. However, before leaving, she did not forget to give instructions to Imanuel.
After she left, Zereth finally had the chance to question Imanuel. He pushed back his green hair and looked at Imanuel with worry, "Imanuel, now can you tell me what is going on!?"
Imanuel sighed when he was interrogated by his friend, "Well, It's nothing serious, I just keep on having severe headaches for the past few months… But don't worry, it will be fine soon…"
Imanuel did not want to reveal too much, and as his friend, Zereth could understand it clearly. So he didn't push any further and changed the subject, "Now that I think about it, from now all of us will spend quite some time together…"
Imanuel raised his eyebrow, knowing that he was trying to change the topic. He went along with him, " All of us?"
"Yes! You, me, and Emie! That little girl actually made it to the Academy. To be honest, I was really not sure if she could get admission, but unexpectedly, she really did it." When talking about this, Zereth couldn't help but sigh, even his pointed ears shook slightly with his emotions.
"Oh…but why do I remember you saying that she will definitely get into the Academy!?" Imanuel looked at Zereth with a questioning gaze.
"Hey! I was just trying to encourage her at that time. You know, I had even planned to reserve a spot in her favorite restaurant just to relieve her sadness. But fortunately, she got what she wanted." Zereth was particularly proud when saying this.
"But I am really curious why the Academy's physical requirements are so low?" Zereth was really confused about this thing.
In fact, Zereth can't be blamed for doubting Emerald's ability to get in the Academy. The reason is simple, first of all, Emerald is a female omega. Secondly, she chose the mecha combat department which has high requirements for mental power and physical strength. And unfortunately, her gender is the biggest restriction for her career.
"The Authorities did not lower the requirements but her mental power increased and her physical endurance also became strong."
Hearing this, Zereth couldn't help but frown, "But her mental power was just C level when we checked a few months ago. The lowest mental power requirement for other gender is B level and for omegas it is A level."
Mental power is categorized into various levels, ranging from E, the lowest level, to S, the pinnacle of strength.
"Emie… she might be awakening soon. She should have already upgraded her mental power to B level during the physical examination. Not to mention that the examiners must have a special instrument to check it." Imanuel explained patiently.
"What!? Damn! She's really lucky!" Zereth couldn't help but exclaim when he heard what Imanuel said.
Apart from second differentiation, some people are fortunate enough to undergo Awakening, a transformative experience that grants them a unique superpower; however, this phenomenon is limited to humans.
In contrast, other races awaken their true bloodline, acquiring abilities that reflect their ancestral heritage. For example, an elf may awaken powers related to plants due their affinity with them.
