Lucifer got in his car, and Emmy sat in the front seat to protect him in case of any danger. The car moved out of the Morningstar Mansion, which was quite big, covering what seemed like half a kilometer around it. The Morningstar Mansion was surrounded by gardens and security everywhere, and all the servants of the house had their accommodations built around the mansion itself so they could live with their families and do their jobs at the same time.
Lucifer was moving towards the west of Soran City, the capital of Somaria. If you looked above into the skies, there were floating islands in the sky of Soran near its center, above a huge building covered with crystal mirror-like barriers in the shape of an oval. This building was called the World Academy, the place where Lucifer was looking, thinking about all the chaos he was going to create.
'This time that Academy will be the place where this world will shake under my name,' Lucifer thought while staring at one of the floating islands.
After half an hour of driving, they arrived at a 50-floored building called 'The Harkins Agency.' This was where all of Somaria's property-related transactions and land-related auctions were conducted.
Soran, despite being the capital city, had a lot of unclaimed land in the form of mountains. Most of the mountains were filled with beasts and were used as training grounds by the World Academy and the rest of the elite families of Soran to get them used to fighting in similar environments.
Usually, the mountains that were empty of any beasts for hunting purposes were sold to others for their own commercial use. So once in a while, some mountains were sold if the previous ownership wanted to sell them. And Lucifer was going out to buy one such property, which would become one of the most problematic sources for the Morningstar Family in his previous life.
Lucifer arrived at the Harkins Agency and got out of his car with an entourage of bodyguards behind him. Emmy had already made a reservation, so Harris Harkins, who was the supervisor of the Soran branch of their company, was already down in the hall waiting to greet the infamous heir of the Morningstar Family.
"Greetings, Young Master Morningstar!" Harris said in a hurried but calm voice because he was aware of the 'Cold Devil' and his retaliations.
"Relax, Mr. Harris, I am here to see some properties to buy. Can you show me what lands are available for auctions?" Lucifer asked Harris with his same indifferent face.
Harris was obviously nervous because he couldn't read the expression of this young boy, and he did not want to get in trouble with the Morningstar Family, which was too great compared to their Harkins Family. So he hurriedly told his secretary to arrange the best V.I.P rooms for them to chat.
"Please come this way, Young Master Morningstar. I hope some of the properties are to your liking."
Lucifer followed them to the 47th floor, which was reserved for VIPs only, and sat down on the sofas in a very cozy but professional-looking room. He was served some snacks and desserts, but he didn't bother eating them, which made the secretary a bit worried, thinking it was not to his liking.
"Mr. Harris, can you show me the catalog for the upcoming auction, please?"
"Yes, Young Master Morningstar. This is the list of properties which will be auctioned the coming week. If you like any one of them, just tell me, and we will give it to you without auctioning it." Harris, clearly being the opportunist he was, wanted to build a connection with Morningstar rather than an immediate profit.
'What a clever man,' Lucifer smirked in his mind.
"Don't worry. I wanted to participate in the auction anyway. I was just seeing if there is any property which piqued my interest."
Lucifer wanted to grab the opportunity from his opponents' hands in front of them to relish their despair when they later found what they had just lost. He clearly remembered what the system had told him about fate points, and he was going to do just that.
Harris disliked how he lost an opportunity for expanding his network, but he nevertheless catered to Lucifer in hope of making a good impression on him, thinking, 'This cold devil will go big anyway, so I should get some connections with him.'
Lucifer, who could see through his facade, just kept his usual face and left after the chat was done.
