Chapter 9 - Chapter 8: Greetings

"This is the information on the Masters participating in this Holy Grail War. Take a look."

The next day, while driving on the streets of Fuyuki, Tatsuya Suzuki handed a stack of documents to Morgan in the passenger seat.

"Shouldn't you be giving me information about the Servants?" Morgan asked as she took the documents and began to read them.

"That's easier said than done. Getting that information is no simple task," Tatsuya replied with a hint of frustration. "Besides, if we want to ensure victory in the Holy Grail War, it would be more convenient to kill the Masters first."

Morgan glanced at Tatsuya, who was driving. "Every magician participating in the war must have that thought. It doesn't make much sense."

"Have you heard of horse racing?" Tatsuya smiled. "Use inferior horses against superior horses, superior horses against medium horses, and medium horses against inferior horses. This way, you win two out of three."

Morgan raised her eyebrows slightly. "You mean, let me deal with the Masters while you delay the Servants? It's a crazy idea. My husband has already given up before the battle even started?"

"...I've already told you those were just polite words. Please don't take them seriously!" Tatsuya almost slammed on the brakes on the Miyuan River Bridge.

If he did, he would probably become the first Master to be eliminated—not by the war, but by a car accident.

"I don't intend to obey anyone's orders, not even the Master's. Treating you as my husband is the maximum tolerance I can give." Morgan teased in a steady tone.

Tatsuya didn't know Morgan well enough, but he could tell that this fairy princess was not someone who could live in a subordinate position for long. He had to accept her attitude.

"Dissatisfied?"

"How could I be..." Tatsuya laughed dryly.

"After all, you don't intend to treat your Servant as a familiar, do you?" Morgan pointed out Tatsuya's attitude.

To hide their Servants' true names and emphasize the master-servant relationship, ordinary magicians used job ranks to refer to their Servants.

But up to now, Tatsuya had never called Morgan Berserker.

"No matter how high-ranking a familiar is, they are still heroes whose names are recorded in history and legend. I respect such beings." Tatsuya answered truthfully, a sharp arc appearing at the corner of his mouth. "Of course, if they are gods, that's another matter."

Morgan's eyes widened slightly, surprised.

The car then passed the Fuyuki Bridge and arrived at the streets of Shinto.

The streetscape changed from traditional to a forest of steel and concrete.

Morgan wasn't too interested in modern cities but didn't dislike sightseeing by car.

When the car stopped at the intersection waiting for the traffic light, Morgan suddenly held her breath and stared at a black car stopping by the roadside ahead.

Noticing her change, Tatsuya also turned his attention to the car, suppressing his magic power and relying solely on his vision to observe.

A blonde woman, around 150 cm tall, got out of the car. She wore a black suit, but it didn't look out of place. She was a standard beauty in men's clothing.

"Is that... the Servant Saber?" Tatsuya was surprised.

His original intention was to take Morgan for a walk and check the city's situation, but he didn't expect to run into Saber, the leader of the Three Knights and the one with the best class evaluation, so easily.

But Morgan's reaction went far beyond that.

She knew Saber.

In the Holy Grail War, Servants' knowledge of each other is a double-edged sword, as it means that their true names will be exposed to each other.

Her class is Saber, and she is someone Morgan knows. And... that pretty face with a heroic look is very similar to Morgan's, the only difference being skin color and hair color.

Saber was helping a woman out of the car. It was an android of the Einzbern family, named Irisviel von Einzbern.

"Artoria Pendragon…" Morgan reported Saber's real name, "No, in this era, the more popular name should be Arthur Pendragon."

Tatsuya narrowed his eyes. "The holy swordsman who founded the city of Camelot? King Arthur? This is really... the Einzbern family has hit the jackpot."

Although there is a saying that the Servants appearing in the Holy Grail War will have some chain reactions.

I thought it was nonsense, but now Tatsuya couldn't help but believe it.

"After all, he is your enemy. You decide what to do." Tatsuya said casually, "I don't want any mistakes to happen because of a disagreement."

Morgan activated a distraction concealment spell, "Wait until night comes, then we'll say hello."

It was obvious that Saber and the Einzbern woman traveling with her were just sightseeing in Fuyuki City during the day.

That kind of wandering attitude as they lingered in the prosperity of the new capital did not seem like a master and servant coming to Fuyuki to participate in the Holy Grail War.

Until night fell.

Fuyuki Seaside Park.

While watching Irisviel walk barefoot in the seawater on the beach, Artoria kept an eye on her surroundings and turned around warily.

"It's already night, there's no one else here." The beautiful woman in men's clothing said in a serious and authoritative voice, "You've been following us all day. Isn't it about time you showed up?"

Irisviel also stopped and calmly looked from behind Artoria to the front of the Servant's line of sight.

In response to Artoria's voice, a Servant emerged from her spiritual form.

After seeing her clearly, both Irisviel and Artoria showed shocked expressions.

However, the reasons were different.

"Same face as Saber…" Irisviel covered her mouth in shock.

Even with the preparations to participate in the Holy Grail War, this situation was too unexpected.

Artoria's shock was even greater.

"Sister..."

"Is it so surprising to see me, Artoria?" Morgan was still wearing modern clothes, with a mocking look in her eyes and eyebrows. "That's a good reaction."

"Saber's sister… That means you are—" Irisviel responded.

Artoria recovered from her shock and stared at Morgan with a frown.

"Since both you and I are Servants participating in the Holy Grail War, it's understandable that we will fight." Artoria took a defensive stance, "Even if it's my sister, I don't intend to back down here."

Unlike Artoria, who was on full alert, Morgan's attitude was still very relaxed, which made Irisviel feel extremely uneasy.

"Be careful, Saber. Her Master hasn't appeared yet, and there's no sign of his presence nearby..."

"It's a pity my Master is a bit fussy. At this critical moment, he is still thinking about coaxing the child to sleep." Morgan blinked and smiled.

"What are you doing here?" Artoria asked.

She clearly felt there were two auras following her during the day, but by nightfall, only one remained.

Morgan smiled gracefully, "When was the last time we met like this?"

"I don't remember clearly. Ever since I inherited the throne, I've been fighting wars and governing the country. My sister rarely appears in front of me." Artoria spoke truthfully.

Morgan looked at Artoria with eyes that seemed to show some sympathy, but also seemed to be mocking, "In the end, the Britain you worked so hard to unify is still torn apart."

Having her sore spot touched, Artoria frowned and stared at her sister.

After all, the demise of Britain and the disappearance of the Cretaceous City are closely related to her sister.

But Artoria never resented anyone. She only blamed herself for not being strong enough to be a good king.

She knew Britain would eventually be destroyed, but at least it would be a peaceful demise, not a war-torn one...

"So I'm here, as a Servant, to participate in the Holy Grail War." Artoria emphasized, "And what are you here for?"

"You don't need to know, hateful red dragon."

As she spoke, Morgan's clothing changed, magic rolled up, and after the light faded, she appeared in clothes Artoria was familiar with, but without the veil covering her face.

In her hand, she held a spear-shaped wand, with the blade as sharp as a sword pointing at Artoria.

"Really..."

Without any hesitation, Artoria accepted the fact that she had to go to war with her sister, and the armor made of magic instantly replaced the black men's suit.

Artoria deeply understood that she and her sister Morgan were two incompatible beings.
