Chapter 4 - Chapter Four

"Soo Jin-ssi..." Ji-hoon breathed, "wake up" his whisper tickled her ear making her stirr "no..." Her voice a gentle protest, but his gentle touch could not be denied. He traced his fingers across the curves of her face, he gently held her face, leaving a trail of kisses on her forehead, her eyes, her nose, and finally her lips making her smile against his lips and opening her eyes to stare at him, he caught her gaze and snickered.

Soo Jin blinked the melting memories and stared at the ceiling blankly, she turned to her side letting her hand limp out of bed and the other under her body.

Ji-hoon's gaze fell upon the message in his phone, the "read" status a ringing bell of the receiver's deliberate disregard, it read: let's meet up. He emerged from the car as soon as his driver opened the door, "purposely trying to ignore me, huh?" He mused, adjusting his suit with a hint of annoyance.

His mind and gaze soon drifted to a car in an awkward position and then to a man briskly walking out of a mansion who seems to be the compound owners' driver. "Ming Ju!" Ji-hoon called out to Ming Ju who had turned to the car's direction, slightly bowing to the man stepping in front of him, he awaited the upcoming inquiry. "What's with the car's... creative position?" Ji-hoon asked. Ming Ju shook his head with a sigh, "I barely got into the backseat, sir just abruptly left the meeting he was in a restaurant and stepped on the pedal, he basically raced home and that's how the car..." He looked at the car as if sympathizing with the non-living object and added a sigh before continuing"...ended up like that...he even took the key with him, I had to silently pick it up without getting involved mistakenly" he explained and Ji-hoon looked up at the mansion "Seems they're having a quibble" he stated and stepped in.

INSIDE

A pretty lady threw a thick book at a man who stood at a corner of the living room, he blocked the book and stared at her in shock, "you...oh my goodness" he said in utter disbelief "you! Ah-rim!" He basically whispered shouted and she stared at him in a huff, "I thought you were reading the book! So it was just a way to deliberately ignore my questions" he said "were you so dumb to only find out now!" Ah-rim mentioned "hey!" He called out and that seemed to be her last straw because the next step she took was to grab his collar, she bulged her eyes in questioning "who are you referring to as hey!" Ah-rim asked and he opened his mouth agape while holding her hands.

"Sister, let him go" a pair of shoes made their way to a couch as the owner's voice ordered the lady in a tired tone. Ah-rim let go of her husband and sat down with folded hands looking to the side with a hmph, "Brother in-law..." Ji-hoon waved at the man who stood akimbo with a small smile "... what happened?" He asked and the man gulped her tea, "Hyeon-Seok!" She shouted in disapproval of him taking her tea, "that's mine!" She debated, "Ah-rim", Ji-hoon spouted in a sigh as Hyeon-Seok sat down, let it be, she looked from her husband to her brother in astonishment before finally letting it slide. Sensing the calm, Hyeon-Seok spoke, "She squandered my money AGAIN " he said accusingly and she looked at him as if she fell victim to a lie. Her brother gazed at her questioningly as if asking if it was true, "I...ah..." She stuttered," what do you expect me to do? Dad froze my account-" "-again" she got interrupted by Hyeon-Seok, "maybe if you stopped spending as if you are getting money from a thrift store, he won't have done that, AH-RIM" he said in a cold tone, he was tired of her shenanigans and fed up. "Oh...really?" She asked in a sarcastic tone, "Oh, really, you said?" Hyeon-Seok asked, "Yep, and not gonna rephrase" she complimented which made him scoff, he turned to Ji-hoon, "Han Ji-hoon, we are getting a divorce and I am calling my lawyer, from now on, if you wanna speak with me, do it through my lawyer and we'll meet when you guys set a meeting date." he said in an all serious voice and someone just had to ruin the scene's seriousness "pfft.." Ah-rim tried holding in her laughter but when both men looked at her with a look that says are-you-for-real-right-now? she burst out into a really loud one.

Hyeon-Seok couldn't believe his lady, so he simply picked up his coat and reached out to Ji-hoon for a handshake and left. Ji-hoon looked at his sister who had a smug look on her face, "Brother, don't look at me that way, it's too light to break me" she munched her biscuits after picking up her book, she smiled at him and returned to her reading, he took that as his cue to leave. Sitting in his car, he thought they always talked about divorce anytime Ah-rim went on a shopping spree but they were always going strong, so he never thought the situation was serious until he received a notification from Hyeon-Seok's lawyer, giving him a meeting date, place, and time. He was stunned stupid by the message and only revived when his driver ask, "Where to, Sir?" "Huh? Sorry... office...wait...home. Take me home." He layed his head on the headrest with a sigh. 'Wow... just wow' he thought as the car drove through the lanes of the compound, driving towards it's exit.

THE DATE ARRANGED FOR THE MEETING

Ji-hoon and Ah-rim who had a frown on her face sat upright when her husband walked in alone. "I don't see the lawyer, Hyeon-Seok" she said in a tone that both men couldn't fathom, he said he was going to be late." He explained, sitting. "I thought this was going to be an-oh-all-hands-on-deck-situation, and your lawyer is already running late on the first meeting." She said staring straight at her husband. "Give it a rest, Ah-rim" Ji-hoon warned and she kept mum but still persisted in keeping eye contact with her man. "Sorry for being late" Hyeon-Seok's lawyer apologized after reaching the table and when Ji-hoon saw his lawyer, he didn't take the case seriously again and just sighed, "this is just going to be a counseling session...thank God" he murmured.
