Chapter 399 - Talking Behind Someone’s Back Will Cost You Greatly

"Nonsense!" Guo Huaian cursed in frustration, his temper flaring.

Li Guozhu, unfazed, walked over and patted him on the shoulder. "Why not just call her? Given her personality, she wouldn't tolerate anyone making a mess of the place she lives in."

Guo Huaian's expression shifted, uncertainty clouding his face as he looked at the billowing smoke in the distance. Finally, he exhaled and relented, "Fine, but even if we wanted to find her, there isn't enough time. Besides, nobody knows where she is."

"That's not an issue." Li Guozhu's lips curled into a mysterious smile.

"What do you mean?" Guo Huaian asked, surprised. "Do you know where she is?"

"Actually, she's already here," Li Guozhu said, pointing toward the distant restaurant. "And most likely, she's in there."

Guo Huaian's face darkened. "How do you know that? Have you been investigating her without permission? The organization strictly forbids interfering with her personal life—no surveillance, no interference. You know that, don't you?" His voice rose, laced with anger.

"Don't be so rigid," Li Guozhu replied with a casual laugh. "The real question is, do you want to sacrifice countless soldiers and civilians, or do you want to save them?"

Guo Huaian clenched his fists, his teeth grinding in frustration. "And how exactly do you plan on saving them?" he asked through gritted teeth.

"Simple," Li Guozhu said, pointing toward the restaurant. "We bomb it."

"You've lost your mind!" Guo Huaian's voice erupted with fury. "Do you even know what you're saying? Are you trying to get us all killed?"

Li Guozhu's suggestion was clearly reckless, a dangerous provocation aimed at forcing Kaguya into action. Guo Huaian couldn't believe what he was hearing.

"She's not acting because none of this affects her directly," Li Guozhu explained calmly. "But if someone were to attack her, I doubt she'd stand idly by. Besides, who else can save these people? You?"

"And how can you be sure she won't be angered by the attack and retaliate against us?" Guo Huaian countered, his voice low and tense.

"She won't," Li Guozhu said confidently. "As long as we make it seem like an accident. Plus, the ones causing this chaos aren't us, but the terrorists. I believe she despises them even more."

Just then, a melodic voice interrupted from behind them. "And then what?"

"I meant no offense," Li Guozhu stammered. His earlier confidence evaporated as cold sweat dripped down his brow. Kaguya's hand gripped his shoulder firmly, her demeanor remaining eerily calm.

"No offense?" she whispered, her tone almost playful. "Well, I think it's time I show you what happens when someone crosses me."

Before Li Guozhu could react, Kaguya's hand shot out, tearing through the air with terrifying precision. In a flash, she severed his left arm as if it were nothing. His scream echoed through the area as he collapsed to the ground, clutching the stump where his arm had been. Blood pooled around him, but Kaguya wasn't finished.

With a swift, calculated stomp, she brought her foot down on his remaining leg, crushing it with sickening force. The bone shattered under the pressure, leaving Li Guozhu writhing in agony, unable to move.

"Consider this mercy," Kaguya said, her voice soft but chilling. "You still have one arm and one leg. I could have taken everything."

She stepped away, leaving Li Guozhu lying on the ground, broken and barely conscious. The surrounding soldiers stood frozen, too terrified to intervene, as the scent of blood filled the air.

Guo Huaian quickly stepped forward, his body trembling. "My apologies," he said, saluting her with a forced calmness. His tone was sincere as he added, "We didn't mean to interfere with your affairs. We only ask for your help to save these innocent people."

"Sorry, but I have no interest in helping you," Kaguya replied coldly. "I believe I've made it clear before—don't spy on me. Are you incapable of understanding simple words?"

Guo Huaian's heart sank, his body tense as cold sweat dripped down his back. The air felt heavy with the threat of her wrath, and he knew things would only worsen if Kaguya wasn't willing to intervene.

Just then, a missile, trailing a long tail of smoke, screamed through the air towards them. The terrorists had spotted the command post and launched their attack.

Kaguya's brows knitted in mild annoyance, clearly displeased by the interruption. She calmly raised her slender hand. With just a small motion, the missile was crushed midair, exploding harmlessly into a fiery bloom. The shockwave rippled out, but not a single fragment touched the ground near them.

Guo Huaian and the remaining soldiers stood frozen, processing what had just happened. Cold sweat drenched their bodies as they realized the sheer power of the girl in front of them.

Kaguya sighed, the barest hint of irritation in her voice. "As much as I dislike being manipulated," she said, her eyes narrowing slightly as she gazed at the chaos in the distance, "I despise anyone who disrupts my peace even more." She turned her head, casting a glance at the terrorists in the distance. "I'll deal with those pests first," she added, beginning to walk toward the enemy lines.

As the silver-haired girl strode gracefully toward the battlefield, Guo Huaian exchanged a glance with the soldiers, each one silently letting out a shaky breath of relief. Though Kaguya appeared calm and beautiful, they now fully understood she was anything but ordinary.

"She's terrifying…" Guo Huaian muttered under his breath, still shaken by the scene.
