The second exam officially began.
Kaguya walked into the exam site, gazing upon the lush forest.
Dense trees rose up, layers of leaves blocking the sunlight, with only occasional beams of light shining through gaps in the foliage, creating dazzling spots on the ground.
The forest was silent, with only the sound of wind rustling the leaves and insects chirping.
Kaguya walked slowly through the forest, looking more like she was on a leisurely stroll than taking an exam. She wasn't too worried about the test since there weren't many formidable opponents in this Chunin Exam.
The most threatening to her was probably Orochimaru. This guy was insidious, cunning, and extremely sly, always needing to be on guard against him. However, his target was Sasuke, so she should be safe. She just needed to find a lone team and snatch a scroll from them.
Suddenly, three kunai were thrown from the shadows, targeting Kaguya as she walked through the forest.
Kaguya didn't turn around. It was as if she had eyes on the back of her head; she lightly dodged, and the three kunai whizzed past her, embedding themselves in a nearby tree trunk.
"I wondered how long you would hold out," Kaguya turned around, speaking to the distance. "Didn't expect you to lose patience so quickly."
"Such luck."
"Didn't expect to run into this chick."
"They say she's really pretty."
"Worth a 100 million ryo, I really want to strip her and take a good look."
"Heh heh."
In the distance, three ninjas appeared on the branches of a large tree. Judging by their headbands and masks, they were from the Hidden Rain Village.
They were leering at Kaguya, their faces full of lascivious smiles.
"Running into three filthy, disgusting bugs that make me lose my appetite. What a downer." Kaguya shrugged helplessly.
"What? Did she just call us bugs?"
"Facing death, and she's still so arrogant."
"I'll teach her a lesson."
The three Rain ninjas leapt from the branches, shooting countless shuriken at Kaguya like a rain of petals, with a kunai hidden among them carrying an explosive tag.
With a loud explosion, a massive blast occurred where Kaguya stood, thick smoke billowing and flames shooting up, the shockwave causing the leaves to rustle.
As the dust settled, a figure lay face down on the ground, shuriken embedded in her, blood slowly seeping from her body. Her clothes were charred from the explosion, emitting a burnt smell. This figure was Kaguya.
"I thought she would be stronger, but she's this weak."
"Made me worry for nothing."
"Too bad she's dead. Otherwise, we could've claimed the 100 million ryo bounty."
"Who told you to hit so hard?"
"How was I supposed to know she was so weak?"
"Alright, stop arguing. Dead is dead."
"Wait, let's see what she looks like. They say she's a great beauty."
"Alright, let's take a look, hehe."
The three Rain ninjas walked towards Kaguya, bending down and reaching out to remove the mask from her face.
"Bugs are just bugs, truly disgusting and revolting."
At that moment, a familiar voice, sweet and slightly soft, suddenly sounded from behind them.
The three Rain ninjas were shocked, as if they had seen a ghost, and jumped away, warily looking in the direction of the voice.
A graceful figure emerged from the bushes, wearing a fox mask—it was Kaguya from earlier.
"What?" The three Rain ninjas were astonished and quickly turned to look at the previous location.
They found that the corpse on the ground had disappeared, replaced by a burning explosive tag.
With a loud "boom," the explosive tag detonated, the deafening sound accompanied by a burst of flames and thick smoke.
The three Rain ninjas, covered in burn marks, crawled out of the smoke. Since they had jumped away at the first moment, they were not fatally injured.
Standing before them was a pair of ninja shoes revealing white, tender toes.
"Impossible."
Even an idiot could now see that Kaguya was not to be trifled with. The Rain ninjas hurriedly got up and fled, abandoning their weapons on the ground.
"I didn't want to kill anyone," Kaguya said with a slight smile under her mask, twirling a kunai on her finger. "But bugs should be fine, right?"
As soon as she finished speaking, Kaguya's figure suddenly vanished and reappeared behind the three Rain ninjas.
Their eyes widened in shock, pupils contracted, and their necks turned stiffly, as if rusty, inch by inch.
The last thing they saw was a lifelike fox mask.
"Ahhhhh!"
Their screams echoed abruptly through the forest, startling countless birds into flight.
Blood splattered everywhere.
