Despite only the air from the attack reaching him, he still got blown further away from the shore like a kite.
It was beneficial because he was able to open up some distance instantly.
He was sure that if hit directly, even with the soft armour, his organs would have turned into mush.
Kain began to swim deeper, looking for the opening to the river that first must have been how he entered.
'I can't see!' The light from the opening in the ceiling was no longer reaching the deep into the water.
However, he didn't dwell on his lack of sight for long and released Bea into the water. Hopefully, one of her splits will get dragged into the current of the river and Bea will be able to direct him there.
Now was a race against time. Will Bea find the opening before he has to go up for air?
He could already see the spider, despite its huge size, standing on the surface of the water like some kind of deity. Therefore, he doesn't dare to swim up any higher.
As his lungs were beginning to burn, the White Widow stabbed one of its legs towards him like a lance. The water offered barely any obstruction at all.
'Is this the power of an orange-grade spiritual creature?' Kain thought, terrified. 'What about those even more powerful?'
Kain swam to the side to dodge the blow, but a glance from the blow was enough to damage several of his ribs.
The little remaining air in his lungs was immediately pushed out as he gave a silent scream of pain.
For the first time Kain felt an emotion from Bea.
Anxiety? Determination? Both? It was hard to identify the emotion. Especially since he wasn't used to receiving any emotional feedback through the contract.
In the second that the spider dipped its head under the water to extend its reach towards him, Bea's true body, not a split, had managed to enter its body.
However, according to the System description, it likely wouldn't do any good. The limit of Bea's abilities was to affect red-grade spiritual creatures.
Still, Bea made her way toward the Spider's brain.
'What the heck! I'll die if I don't try anything anyways' He could feel darkness creeping into the edges of his vision from the lack of oxygen.
Through the contract, Kain channelled his spiritual power to Bea in a crude manner. If he had learned a suitable spiritual power technique he maybe would have been able to momentarily increase Bea's spiritual power in a more effective and efficient way. However, until he entered college, this was his only option.
Kain, after nearly exhausting all of his spiritual energy and oxygen, quickly surfaced after receiving a signal from Bea.
He took a sweet gulp of air while focusing his eyes on the massive spider, its eyes were clouded over while its front 2 legs were trembling.
However, that only lasted for a moment before its vision cleared and focused on Kain.
Screeeeeee!!!!!
Kain could almost feel its anger that the murderer of its child dared to show himself again.
He quickly swam back down below the surface
Fortunately, right at this moment Kain received a prompt from Bea that one of her splits had exited the cavern as well as the direction it had last been.
Once he located the opening in the wall, just large enough to fit a full-grown man, he made his exit.
While recalling Bea from the Spider's body and, consequently, all of her splits.
Screeeeeeee!!!!! Smash Smash Smash
All that remained in the cavern were the enraged screams of the spider mother as she attempted to smash out of the cavern.
