The next day came , every student in the academy went to their homerooms to receive lectures. Vondrel went to the combat class, so he can learn more about combat since he doesn't have an ability and he is also good in mastery of weapons.
Walking to the small podium at the front of the classroom, an average height young man in his thirties, stood facing the group of students numbered in 20.
He studied the students busy chatting away and then proceeded to clap his hands loudly, thereby drawing the attention of the students.
"Okay everyone....i standing here is your homeroom teacher, 'master Leo' I will be taking you guys lessons on combats and beast weapons. " master Leo said
Vondrel stood among his fellow students with an indifferent expression, his attention was when to begin their combat class. Their instructor, a wise and seasoned warrior who addressed himself as Master Leo, greeted them with a bow.
"Today, we embark on a journey through the origins of martial arts and the ancient secrets of combat," Master Leo announced, his eyes gleaming with excitement.
It was evident that he is an instructor who loves his work.
The class began with a history lesson, tracing the roots of martial arts back to the earliest civilizations. Vondrel listened intently as Master Leo explained how ancient warriors developed techniques to harness their inner energy and channel it into powerful movements, before people with special abilities which are now worldly known as awakened started appearing.
Next, Master Leo demonstrated various combat techniques, showcasing the efficiency and deadliness of each move.
Vondrel watched alongside his classmates, feeling the flow as the instructor executed each technique.
After a brief break, Master Leo introduced the topic of beast weapons – different stages of weapons forged from the soul cores of mythical creatures. He explained how these weapons were invented by the earliest warriors, who sought to harness the creatures' powers for themselves.
As the class progressed, Vondrel learned how to harness the power within the beast weapons. Master Leo taught them how to attune their inner energy to the weapon's unique frequency, unlocking its true potential.
The final lesson of the day was the most intriguing: fusing one's ability with the weapon. Vondrel watched in awe as Master Leo demonstrated the fusion, his movements becoming almost fluid and ethereal. After displaying everything he thought they could grasps, he then paused to study their expressions.
"Now, it's your turn," Master Kao announced, while pointing to the beast weapons placed in the side of the walls.
"The first thing to know before using a weapon, is to select one that is compatible with your ability and techniques."
Each student moved to select a weapon of their choice.
Vondrel moved but didn't select any weapon from the sets placed in tge wall.
Seeing this, Master Leo called out to him. "Hey kid, why aren't you choosing any weapon??"
Vondrel shrugged and answered. "None of them suites my style."
Master Leo raised his eyebrow. " What style do you practice??"
Instead of answering, Vondrel moved to the corner of the room where a pile of broken woods laid on the floor, covered in dirts and cobwebs.
Master Leo trailed him with his sight.
' Is this what I am thinking, is he really going for that thing??' he studied vondrel who was removing the pile of woods unhurriedly. 'Even I couldn't harness the energy in it, not that it has any though'
Vondrel cleared the pile of woods away and stared at a dual weapon covered in dust. He picked it up and wiped the dust off it.
As he grasped the hilt, he felt an unexpected surge of energy. The sword seemed to hum with power, as if it had found its rightful owner. Almost immediately, the energy disappeared, leaving no trace behind.
'What was that feeling just now' Vondrel thought as he observed the blades.
"Interesting, an interesting weapon isn't it??" Master Leo walked closer to him.
"Even I was mesmerized at first sight." He added with an heavy sigh.
"Let me tell you what I know about the blades" his eyes glittened as he said that.
"The dual blade, known as the "Kyokai," was an ancient masterpiece forged from the essence of two mythical creatures: the dragon and the phoenix. It is also rumoured to carry the essence of the world itself. Its workmanship was a testament to the ingenuity and craftsmanship of a long-lost civilization, it's origin unknown.
The Kyokai's dual blades were crafted from a rare, otherworldly metal that shimmered with a mesmerizing iridescence. The blades' curves seemed to shift and flow like liquid, as if they had been poured into existence rather than forged as you can see it.
Intricate etchings adorned the blades, depicting scenes of ancient battles and mythological creatures. These etchings were not mere decorations; they were actually a labyrinth of microscopic channels that pulsed with a subtle, colourless energy. This energy, known as...well I don't know, no one knows what energy is within. The energy was the lifeblood of the Kyokai, amplifying its wielder's strength and agility.
The blades' edges were honed to a molecular sharpness, capable of slicing through even the most resilient materials. The tips were pointed, allowing for precise, deadly thrusts.
The Kyokai's hilt was a marvel of ergonomic design, fitting comfortably in the wielder's hand. The grip was wrapped in a rare, scaly material that provided a secure hold, even in the most intense combat situations.
A delicate, crystalline structure connected the dual blades, pulsating with a soft, golden light. This crystal, known as the "heartstone," was the key to unlocking the Kyokai's true potential, or so they say. It harmonized the wielder's energy with that of the blades, creating a symphony of destruction.
When wielded by a master, the Kyokai became an extension of their being, moving with a fluidity that belied its formidable power. Its ancient workmanship seemed to whisper secrets of the past, guiding the wielder's movements with a wisdom forged over centuries.
The Kyokai was more than a weapon – it was a gateway to a forgotten era, a testament to the ingenuity of a long-lost civilization, and a harbinger of destruction in the hands of a worthy master." He paused
" But alas, this oñe has the intricate and mesmerizing designs, but it is hollow. All the stories and tales around it were just fairy tales. It couldn't even cut a rock against how it was described. Sigh" a loud sigh escaped the instructors mouth.
"A weapon which was meant to cleave mountains and split the sky, it's nothing more than a shadow of it's story. Dorman, rejected, discarded and with no purpose. Even toddlers don't accept it, i would ad..."
Before he could finish his statement, vondrel cut him off with words that made his eyes widen.
" You would what??" Master Leo asked for clarity.
" I will take it." Vondrel repeated and proceed to move to where the others were, without sparing the shocked instructor a glance.
'Have i gone crazy or what?.....did that boy actually choose that weapon.' As if realizing, he face palmed.
*I might have gone overboard with my description of the weapon." He muttered before joining the students.
He cleared his throat and said.
"Having chosen weapons if your choice let's proceed with the class."
"Remember, the true power of the beast weapons lies within yourselves," Master Leo reminded them. "Discover your compatibility, and unleash your full potential."
None of them was able to harness the power of their weapons nor were they able to fuse their own energy successfully into them.
The energy all awakened uses is called the ordinary energy, exempting some extremely rare talents who uses higher energy. This energies are different from what is known as Qi, they are energy that serves as fuel to unleashing abilities. The potency of the higher energy exceed that of the ordinary energy, not everyone can use it, which is why people who does are very rare.
Some talented awakened unlocks another form of energy known as Qi, which emanates in a yellowish colour. It serves as the life force of all living things and can be harnessed to enhance one's ability, weapons and powers.
. ......
Vondrel left the combat class with a newfound sense of purpose, eager to continue his journey and unlock the secrets of the beast weapon.
He thought about everything he learned, about the origin of martial arts, combat techniques, how beast weapons were invented, how to harness the power in the beast weapons, how to fuse your ability with the weapon so as to bring out the power of the beast weapons and finally how to know their campatible weapons.
They ended the class and went to another class. Then Vondrel went to some other classes : wilderness survival class, Mec class and so on. He met with some other students with no ability in the MEC class who didn't train with the embodiment technique.
He came across a guy in the mec class named Tom.
"Hey....how are you able to understand this stuff easily, it's complicated you know ? " Vondrel asked while smiling sheepishly.
"Hmm..... it's no big deal, just take the manual and follow the instructions, you will get the hang of it." Tom replied
"Try to smile more often, your smile just now looks awkward." He added
Vondrel remained silent for some seconds before responding evenly
"Okay thanks "
.....After the lectures for the day, he went to eat and later went back to his hostel.
After catching fun with his friends and exchanging gists, they all went to sleep, preparing for the same routine the next day. So the same daily trend continued .
