Chapter 19 - The Attack

The nights at Mars Speed Academy were always eerily quiet, with only the occasional howling wind breaking the stillness. As Allie stepped into the training grounds, a chill filled the air, prompting her to tighten her sports jacket around her. The lighting was dim, with only a few spotlights still operational, providing the necessary illumination for night training.

"Allie, you've arrived," a gentle voice said.

She followed the sound and saw Ryan's assistant, Mary, standing by the side of the field, holding a terminal with a friendly smile on her face. Mary's golden hair shimmered softly under the spotlights, and she was dressed in a simple gray suit, looking efficient and approachable.

"Good evening, Mary," Allie said with a smile as she approached. "Isn't Mr. Ryan coming today?"

Mary shook her head, a hint of apology in her eyes. "Mr. Ryan has been meeting with important leaders on Mercury these days and might not be back for a few days. He specifically instructed me to take good care of you."

Allie nodded, trying to hide the disappointment in her eyes. She had thought she would see Ryan tonight, but he had gone to Mercury instead. "Is Mr. Ryan very busy lately?"

Mary sighed, a touch of weariness in her eyes. "Yes, he has to deal with the backlog of official duties that have piled up for several days upon his return. You know, as a member of the board, he has great responsibilities." She paused and added, "But don't worry, he's always concerned about your training progress."

Allie felt a warm surge in her heart. Even though Ryan was not around, he still remembered her training. She took a deep breath, adjusted her emotions, and said, "Let's get started."

Mary nodded and opened the training program on the terminal. "Today we mainly practice high-speed turns and aerial flips. Mr. Ryan specifically instructed to strengthen these two."

Once the training began, Allie was completely immersed. She sped along the track, her silver hair billowing behind her. With every turn and every jump, she strove for perfection. Sweat quickly soaked through her training suit, but she didn't feel tired at all.

"Great, Allie!" Mary shouted from the side of the field, "You're really making quick progress!"

Hearing the encouragement, Allie felt a surge of pride. She increased her speed and landed steadily after a difficult aerial flip. Just then, she felt the Kunlun power inside her fluctuate slightly, as if responding to her efforts.

After two hours, Allie, panting, completed the last set of movements. Mary came over and handed her a towel and a bottle of water.

"That's it for today, Allie. You did well," Mary said with a smile, "Mr. Ryan will be very pleased to hear about it."

Allie wiped her sweat and took a sip of water, "Thank you, Mary. Can you tell me when Mr. Ryan will be back?"

Mary looked at her terminal, "According to the schedule, he should be back on Mars in three days. If there are any changes, I will notify you in time."

Allie nodded, feeling a bit disappointed but more looking forward to it.

Walking alone back to the dormitory, the night on Mars became even colder, and Allie quickened her pace.

Just then, a group of people suddenly appeared in front of her, seemingly unfriendly. On a closer look, the person in the lead was Catherine! She was standing in the shade under the tree, her expression invisible.

The atmosphere was suddenly filled with tension, and Allie stood tall with caution.

"What do you want, Catherine?" Allie asked, subconsciously wanting to turn and run as if fleeing was her first response to danger over the years.

"What for? I came to congratulate you. You must be very happy today, right?" Catherine said as she walked out of the shadows with a sinister smile.

"What do you mean?"

"To get this chance to participate, you are so ruthless!" She waved her hand, and the boys behind her immediately approached Allie.

Catherine thought that the person who reported her was Allie. Catherine lost her reputation and status overnight, and it seemed that Allie got everything overnight.

"Catherine, you misunderstood, I didn't do this!" Allie tried to explain desperately, but who would believe it in the current situation?

Catherine looked at Allie contemptuously, "Ha ha, no one would be foolish enough to admit their bad deeds." She waved her hand lightly, signaling the people behind to take action.

"You will get what you deserve. Teach her a lesson and let her know what rules are!"

Allie took a deep breath and took a defensive stance. She couldn't run away anymore.

As soon as the words left her mouth, several boys lunged at Allie. Relying on her daily training, Allie barely dodged the first wave of attacks. But soon, she was overwhelmed by their numerical advantage. Suddenly, one boy threw a punch, hitting her hard in the stomach.

Allie felt a sharp pain, causing her to double over. Before she could catch her breath, another boy grabbed her hair and slammed her violently to the ground.

Allie's back hit the cold floor hard, the pain making her vision go black. She struggled to get up, only to be kicked in the ribs. She tasted blood spreading in her mouth, her vision becoming blurry.

Allie didn't know how long she was beaten, gradually losing consciousness. She was reminded of her childhood days wandering the streets, fighting dogs for scraps, dealing with thugs, stealing food - it often resulted in a vicious beating. Fortunately, she could run fast, or she would have died there long ago.

'Allie, you are a treasure,' a voice echoed in her mind. His voice truly had magic, deep and pleasing, and his eyes...' Allie, you're amazing!' And fiery Fiona, always so full of energy.

Suddenly, she felt a strange force surging within her. It was the Kunlun Force, responding to her pain. This power quickly spread throughout her body, bringing an unprecedented sense of clarity. Allie opened her eyes.

Her vision suddenly became exceptionally clear, and everything around her seemed to slow down. She saw a boy's fist coming towards her face, but in her eyes, the movement was as slow as a movie in slow motion.

Allie sprang to her feet, her body propelled by an invisible force. Her fist struck that boy's chin with such precision and force that he instantly lost consciousness.

Before the others could react, Allie had already spun around, kicking another boy and sending him flying. He crashed heavily into the wall, and slid to the ground, unable to get up again.

Within just a few minutes, five or six people were down. Some were groaning in pain on the ground, others had lost consciousness. The tallest man was hit in the stomach by Allie's powerful punch, dropping to his knees, his face pale, unable to get back up.

Seeing the situation turn against her, Catherine turned to flee. But by now, Allie was completely enveloped by the Kunlun Force, her speed and strength reaching unprecedented heights. Allie quickly caught up with her, easily grabbing her by the throat and slapping her hard several times, almost able to hear teeth breaking with each slap. Catherine let out an agonizing wail...

When Allie came back to her senses from that strange state, she was horrified by the scene before her. Catherine lay in front of her, her face covered in blood, seemingly unconscious. Several people were lying around, some groaning, others motionless. Her hands were stained with blood, she didn't know if it was her own or someone else's.

Just then, blinding lights flooded in. Several security guards rushed over, and upon seeing the grisly scene, immediately called for a medical team.

Allie stood there, her whole body trembling. She couldn't believe she had caused such severe consequences. The surrounding commotion seemed distant to her, the only thing she could hear was her rapid heartbeat.

Soon, the school's head of security arrived on the scene. He frowned sternly at Allie, "Come with me."

Allie numbly followed the security chief out of the training ground, leaving chaos behind. Medical personnel were urgently treating the injured, while security guards maintained order.

Allie followed the security chief into a small conference room, the atmosphere suffocatingly tense. She sat on a cold metal chair, her hands tightly clasped, knuckles white. The security chief sat across from her, brow furrowed as he flipped through a report.

"Allie Raine," the security chief looked up, his gaze piercing, "Do you know how much trouble you're in?"

Allie swallowed, her voice trembling slightly, "I...I was defending myself. They attacked me first."

The security chief sighed, "The problem is, you've caused serious bodily harm. Two students are still in the intensive care unit. Do you know what it means if they die?"

Die? Allie was shocked. Could she have killed someone? A chilling feeling crept up her spine.

Allie sat on the cold metal chair, hands tightly clasped, knuckles white. Suddenly, the conference room door was pushed open and Ryan strode in.

"Ryan?" Allie stood up in surprise, "Weren't you on Mercury?"

A flicker of concern crossed Ryan's eyes as he quickly walked over to Allie's side. "I came back as soon as I got the news." He examined Allie carefully, "Are you hurt? Is anything uncomfortable?"

Only then did Allie realize her whole body was aching, especially around her ribs. She shook her head slightly, "I'm fine, just a bit sore..."

Ryan frowned and gently helped Allie sit down. "Let's take care of your injuries first." He turned and called out to the hallway, "Please send in medical personnel."

Soon, a doctor came in to examine and treat Allie's injuries. After confirming there were no serious injuries, the doctor left.

Ryan took out his terminal and walked aside to dial an encrypted channel. "Isolate all those involved in tonight's incident, immediately!" Ryan's tone was stern and firm.

After hanging up, he returned to Allie's side and gently held her hand. "Allie, tell me what happened."

Allie took a deep breath and told Ryan everything in detail. When she got to the moment she lost control, her voice trembled slightly.

Ryan listened quietly, not speaking immediately after she finished. His gaze was gentle, filled with understanding and concern. "Allie, you did well. In that situation, you protected yourself."

Allie looked up in surprise, "But...I hurt those people...Will they die? And Catherine, her face was covered in blood..."

Ryan shook his head slightly, "That's not your fault. Their actions were already criminal, at most, you could be considered to have used excessive self-defense. Allie, you still can't fully control your power." He paused, "You must understand, that the Kunlun Force is an unknown ability, we're all still learning about it, so don't blame yourself too much."

Allie nodded, tears glistening in her eyes. "I didn't mean to, Ryan. I was just...so scared."

Ryan gently stroked Allie's hair, wiping the blood from the corner of her mouth, his eyes showing unprecedented tenderness.

"Don't be afraid, I'm here." "I'll handle it. You need to focus on understanding the path ahead clearly."
