Chapter 4 - The Past of Kai

Kai was born and raised in the Kingdom of Eldoria, a powerful and prosperous realm. His father, King Aric, was a talented and kind ruler, always respected and loved by the people. His mother, Queen Elara, was an intelligent and graceful woman, always caring for her family and kingdom. Kai also had a younger sister named Lyra, a girl with a radiant smile that always brought joy to those around her.

The kingdom was living in happiness and peace until mysterious labyrinths began to appear all over Eldoria. King Aric ordered the exploration of these labyrinths and discovered that the labyrinths in Eldoria were not only filled with terrifying monsters but also the source of immense power and treasures.

Within each labyrinth, one could find magical gems, ancient weapons, and mysterious knowledge, all capable of greatly enhancing the strength of the possessor. These labyrinths also contained ancient spells that could change the course of any battle.

Fearing that war could break out at any moment, King Aric issued a decree forbidding the disclosure of this information to the public. However, it was difficult for one person to control the masses, and rumors eventually spread to the neighboring kingdom of Veridisia. They plotted to attack Eldoria. Despite knowing that the labyrinths were filled with monsters, King Kira of Veridisia believed that the benefits of seizing the labyrinths would outweigh the risks. He wanted to use the power from the labyrinths to strengthen his army and make Veridisia the strongest kingdom in the region.

Thus, they sent scouts to infiltrate Eldoria and placed fire-element magic stones at the entrances of the labyrinths. Explosions reverberated from one labyrinth to another, and from these labyrinths, terrifying monsters poured out, massacring the people and destroying villages. Eldoria fell into chaos and suffering.

With the chaos caused by the monsters from the labyrinths, Veridisia's army quickly invaded and occupied Eldoria. During this time, King Aric and Queen Elara knew they had little time left to protect their children.

On a dark night, King Aric and Queen Elara decided to sacrifice themselves to buy time for Kai and Lyra to escape. They had prepared a secret passage in the palace, leading the siblings out before returning to face the enemy. Tears streamed down Kai's face as he watched his parents being surrounded by monsters and Veridisia soldiers, but he knew he had to keep living to fulfill his promise to them.

As they fled the kingdom, Kai held Lyra tightly, promising her that one day they would return and reclaim Eldoria. He had to witness the heartbreaking scene of his parents falling, but it only strengthened his resolve.

Within Kai, the fire of revenge and the desire to rebuild Eldoria burned brightly. He not only wanted to avenge his parents and protect his sister Lyra but also to bring peace and prosperity back to his kingdom. Kai knew that to achieve this, he needed to become stronger and gather powers from the labyrinths.

After escaping Eldoria, Kai and Lyra lived in hiding, always on the move to avoid enemy pursuit. Kai gradually realized that he needed to become stronger to protect his sister and fulfill his promise to his parents. Thus, day by day, Kai trained both his martial skills and magical abilities fiercely, later even trying to become an adventurer with the hope of becoming even stronger.

Kai vowed that one day he would stand before Eldoria's throne, not only as a successor but also as a worthy king, bringing peace and prosperity to the kingdom. He would not let his parents' sacrifice be in vain and would fight to the end to protect those he loved.

He began his journey of exploring and conquering the labyrinths. Each labyrinth he overcame, each monster he defeated, made him stronger and brought him closer to his goal. He also sought a small team to tackle larger labyrinths, and they became his closest friends after the tragic event. They were none other than Ren, Mai, and Rio.
