Chapter 103 - The Elusive Threat

As the threat had been defeated. The gene virus was spread successfully. After some thanks, I left Shadda-Bi-Boran. I even gained a new title, different from others I have come to be known by.

They called me Lifesaver. As the gene virus actually evolved regardless of my constraints in designing it. It to all native species on the planet. Which meant all life could be saved. My only theory is the Force. The virus must have gained certain traits from my intent when I focused on working on it. The Force gave power to my intent to save them and affected my virus with the power of intent. A good lesson to learn, learned well.

When the Amidalas came to rescue the Shadda-Bi-Boran with a relocation fleet. They had their work cut out for them. They had to call in more favors for help transporting animals and plants too.

As for their questions on how their biology changed? The elders simply mentioned the name Lifesaver, without further details.

The Nameless itself is my new worry. That sort of beast was sent to Shadda-Bi-Boran precisely for me. Else, I would not have been warned and our contact would've been up to a cosmic coin flip.

Old criminal organizations used to utilize the nameless against Jedi crusaders. They all still lost and are now extinct though. The Nameless were thought to be extinct now too. One hasn't been seen in a few thousand years. No simple entity can capture or deploy them.

"All those ancient forces are long gone though..."

The only force with the resources are maybe the syndicates. There would be handlers on the planet with the Nameless if that was the case though. It didn't attack anyone but me. Even though it feeds on Force Sensitives, it is inherently violent and would still attack easy targets.

Perhaps the Sith? Unlikely, they are busy with their own affairs at this time and would not care about some Force wielding bounty hunter in this way. I don't have any leads.

"Bido..."(2x).

I gaze at the empty air around me, "Kaljaren? Ragnos?"

The two old ghosts then materialize in their transparent forms.

Kaljaren smiles, "We knew that a Nameless would be nothing for you. We were barred from communication, but we could watch the fight. It was a masterful execution of attacks."

Ragnos grunts lightly, "It's true, your combat prowess is a bad match for a Nameless. However, not all are the same. Some are less...bestial."

"I accept the compliments, but who or what sent that creature after me?", I ask. At my question, the two ghosts frown.

Kaljaren sighs, "We can't say. The Force wants you to figure it out yourself. Consider this enemy as a goal."

Ragnos groans in frustration. As a Sith, being restrained by the Force from speaking is against his very philosophy and highly infuriating. However, he remains somewhat calm because he knows that he can't break this one chain. He does says, "All we can tell you is that the enemy is one old, dusty bastard. More experienced in the Force and more powerful than you currently. Although he is limited in his influence."

I rub the back of my neck, "Well, and ancient male enemy narrows it down for me. Every single one of the possibilities will be a major challenge though. Claiming their skulls won't be easy."

Ragnos laughs, "I hear the veiled excitement in your voice. After going so long without a truly worthy prey. You're just itching to get your hands on them."

I shrug helplessly, "What can I say? Hunting is in my genes."

Kaljaren smirks, "Well, this prey is going to take training against other opponents of great power. Luckily for us. This galaxy is full of old monsters and sleeping horrors. We'll use them as stepping stones. Then you'll be ready to claim your prize skull."

I laugh lightly, "Sounds good to me. Also, how strong do you guys think I need to be?"

The ghosts look at each other before answering together, "Strong enough to destroy a planet."

My mandibles slacken and drop, "Strong enough to destroy a planet? Seriously?"

They both nod.

I rub my brows before slowly breaking out into hearty laughter, "Alright! I'll get that strong then. No problem, I got time. For now, I'm going home."
