Chapter 11 - Ch 11: A Brother's Oath

---

Looking at her children playing happily, she smiled gently.

Noticing her child still crying from hunger, she gently brought him to her breast to feed him. The baby began to suckle gently, and after five minutes of drinking milk, he finally stopped crying and closed his eyes.

---

"As I drank my mother's milk, I heard the system notification."

**Quest completed**

{Reward: All stats +1}

The updated stats window appeared before my eyes:

I felt energy coursing through my body as it grew stronger.

---

Finally, the quest was complete. Although I had initially thought it would feel awkward to drink my mother's milk with an adult mind, my body seemed to have no such thoughts. All I felt was my mother's gentleness and protectiveness.

I started reflecting on everything I had experienced so far—from living in my previous world, to the trial in Black Space, the unexpected interruption during the trial, and finally, my rebirth.

Everything was filled with the unknown.

It truly was an unexpected journey.

Sigh. "I was hoping to go to heaven, rest peacefully, and watch over my family. Who would have expected I'd be reborn here?"

I smiled lightly, thinking to myself, Is this what they call an unexpected turn in life?

---

The woman looked at her son, who was smiling as he slept. She called out to the man lying beside her, resting his head on a pillow next to her bed.

"Dear, look at how he's smiling in his sleep."

"Yeah, he must be having a good dream. Let me sleep, too," he said sleepily.

"Hmph," the woman pouted, her expression contrasting with her usual cold face.

---

Meanwhile, Alexander, my brother, was in another room, sleeping peacefully when he had a strange dream.

In the dream, he saw a giant snake with hundreds of millions of heads emerging from its body. The snake was so massive it seemed capable of carrying the entire world on its hood, and there appeared to be no end to its length.

Suddenly, the snake looked directly at Alexander. But instead of feeling fear, Alexander felt as though he had finally reunited with something he had lost.

As the snake stared at Alexander, it let out a loud hiss.

"Hissss!"

Though the snake's voice was unheard, cracks appeared in space as it hissed. Then, with great speed, the snake dove toward Alexander, as if ready to swallow him at any moment.

Alexander braced for the impact, but to his surprise, instead of devouring him, the snake disappeared into his body with great speed.

---

Alexander jolted awake from the dream.

"What a strange dream," he murmured.

Unknown to him, a strange snake-shaped mark had appeared on his back.

---

As time passed, I adapted to my surroundings. From the information I had gathered—well, overheard—from my parents, it seemed I was no longer on Earth but in some other place. It also seemed we were a family of four: me, my brother Alexander, my mother (whose name I didn't know yet), and my father (whose name I also didn't know yet).

After all, it had only been a week since I was born.

Strangely, I could understand the language of this world.

---

"Oh, come here, baby. Today is your naming day," my mother said as she picked me up from the cradle.

Naming day? I soon found out what it meant.

Today was the day I would be given a name. I suddenly thought about what my previous name was. But as I pondered this, something inside me buzzed.

What? What was I thinking?

Well, it didn't seem that important anyway.

I focused on my mother, who was carrying me in her arms.

---

It was my first time going outside of my new home.

As I was taken outdoors, I was stunned by what I saw.

In this world, there wasn't just one sun—there were twelve.

What kind of freakish world have I been reborn into? I thought, though sadly there was no one to hear me.

---

"Dad, where's our ride?" Alexander called out.

"Oh, it'll be here in a minute."

Suddenly, as if by magic, a massive spherical object appeared before us.

"Wha—?" I cried out.

"Oh, it seems the baby likes the show," Mother said with a smile.

---

So, this world has magic. I had expected that much after emerging from the blank space, but I still had some doubts.

As we all entered the sphere-shaped object, it began to rotate. Yet, inside, everything remained still. Beautiful carvings adorned the interior, and bottles of drinks were placed in front of us.

Looking at the bottles, Mother remarked, "Riders should restrain themselves sometimes. Don't they know families also travel in orbiters?"

It seemed this sphere-like object was called an "orbiter" and was used for transportation.

"Dear, don't be upset. They do that to attract more customers. After all, they need to make a living too," Father replied.

"You know, it's because of people like you that they're motivated to do things like this," Mother huffed at Father.

Father could only sulk.

Sigh, I thought. It seems even in this world, women have special privileges.

Don't worry, Father, I understand your pain, I thought in sympathy toward my new dad.

After waiting for about half an hour, we arrived at the location where I would be given my name.

We stood in front of what seemed to be a massive grand hall.

My father pulled out a token-like object from his pocket and handed it to the guard. The guard placed the token into a machine beside him, and after a few beeps, he handed the token back to my father.

"Welcome to the Naming Palace," the guard said in a respectful tone. "Please enjoy your experience."
