Chapter 1 - THE SPACE LABYRINTH

Walking and wandering. It is a story about a boy who wanders through the labyrinth. A boy who lives in the labyrinth, wandering to survive in the labyrinth. Indeed, the boy is me.

It was 2004. Humankind was finally able to find traces of life outside of Earth. Not only that, but they were able to communicate with them. Well, precisely, it was the aliens who communicated with us.

This groundbreaking event sparked a range of emotions, from exhilaration and curiosity to apprehension and concern. Speculations ran rampant about the aliens' appearance, intentions, and potential impact on humanity's future. But it was that day when humanity—

Oops! I was so busy telling the story that I forgot I was currently walking. Well, you see, this labyrinth is pretty large—almost half the size of Earth.

I know it doesn't make sense. It will make sense. Not now, but a little bit later when I finish dealing with this. The ceiling of this labyrinth is too high. There is too much empty space. So, when you walk, you can hear your footsteps echoing.

I can hear another footstep beside mine.

As I kept walking forward, I saw a shadow of something behind a wall. It was approaching me.

Oh! It was a robot. Not a normal robot. It is a cleaning robot. Then, a normal cleaning robot? No, you are wrong. It does not clean filth or garbage. It cleans life itself. Any life it sees, it cleans, which means it kills it.

"@*:÷ &^£@"

It uttered something. But what did it say?

I encountered many robots like that, but the main problem was the size.

The bigger the opponent, the easier for me to win. Other robots I encountered were almost 2 or 3 times bigger than me. But it was smaller, almost the size of a human. As a result, it can move faster.

The robot started to come closer, its mechanical limbs whirring with deadly intent. Panic surged through me. Unlike the lumbering giants I'd faced before, this one was small and agile. My usual tactic of exploiting their bulk wouldn't work here.

Thinking fast, I hid in a narrow side passage I'd spotted earlier, but it spotted me in a matter of time. It started approaching me at great speed.

Its hand quickly transformed into a spear. I was able to dodge it the first time.

"Aagh! Aagh!"

I shouted in pain as its spear pierced through my thighs the second time. Blood gushed from my wounds. I quickly jumped backward.

The world spun into a blur of pain. My vision was tunneling. I stumbled backward, my injured legs hindering me. With its cold, calculating precision, the robot advanced, its spear glinting menacingly.

I used the laser gun I had found earlier. I fired a shot, but it was useless. It evaded my shot without any problem.

The robot started to come closer. I retreated, searching for an advantage. An idea came into my mind—a plan. It was a gamble, but it was my only chance.

The ceiling!

The hanging part of the ceiling! It could fall at any time.

If I could manage the timing and make it fall on the robot, I might have a chance to win.

I looked at the ceiling. It was a long way up, but it was my only chance. I took a deep breath and ran towards that part of the ceiling. I can feel my injured legs burning with pain.

The robot was closing in on me.

I aimed my laser gun at that falling part and fired. The laser hit the crack and it started shaking.

The robot stopped and looked up at the ceiling. It realized what I was doing.

But it was too late. I made another shot and it fell.

The ceiling crashed down on the robot. It crushed the robot's limbs.

I started to fire my laser gun continuously at the robot until it stopped moving completely.

"Ha~aah"

I sighed with relief as I defeated the robot.

But I needed to treat these wounds before they became infected. There was no time to waste, even the smallest injury could be fatal.

After covering the wound with some pieces of clothes I found by searching the robot and stopping the bleeding, I stood up.

I started wandering again.

So let's start from where we left off.

It was that day when humanity almost got wiped out. I was 10 years old at that time. Aliens attacked the Earth with their advanced technology. America, Europe and many parts of Asia were wiped out. Many people died. Many were captured and they were used for many experiments and slavery.

It is said that 80 percent of the world's population was wiped out that day. Most of the remaining people were captured by the aliens and were brought to the spaceship.

We were captured in a battleship. In That battleship, we were brought to the main ship. It was big. I was surprised. I heard later that it was almost half of the size of the Earth.

From the inside of the main spaceship, it didn't look like a spaceship. As we were transported, I looked through the window and saw cities, gardens, and normal aliens who led their lives normally.

We were brought to a laboratory

.

There various types of experiments were done on me but those experiments were mild.

However, the experiments done on the adults were serious, dangerous and disgusting. Their body parts were cut. Experiments were conducted to fuse their body with other life forms and animals. Women were forced to breed resulting in death. Many people were sold as slaves.

A few years later, the aliens invaded another planet but they were defeated. The aliens' spaceships were destroyed. Many deadly killer machines and robots were deployed. Most of the aliens escaped. Some of them died.

But we were left behind. Most of the captured humans died because of the robots and other reasons. Some of them survived. But In recent years, I never encountered anyone alive.

People wander through the ruin of the spaceship so that they can survive. Thus the name of this place became the space labyrinth.

~grr.. grr..~

My stomach growled. I am hungry.

I checked my food supplies.

I guess I have nothing to eat. I gotta find somthing to eat.
