"Excuse me?" Warren exclaimed. He wasn't sure he heard her correctly.
Rose flashed him a brighter smile, moved closer to him and bent over to be able to whisper into his ear.
Warren reclined his body on the chair and nearly blamed himself for not bringing his guards, along.
He had ordered them to stay back outside, in the car, as he didn't want much attention at the restaurant. He had planned on trying to enjoy his meal without people waiting on him.
He was doubtful of his decision upon Rose's weird reaction.
"I said I have an irresistible offer for you, Mr Warren Wellesley!" Rose repeated, but this time, slowly and carefully. She wanted him to hear her clearly.
"An offer for me from you?" Warren inquired, surprisingly and stared at her like she had suddenly grown two heads.
"Yes, an irresistible one at that!" She maintained, firmly, then stood up straight.
Warren looked up at her and the seriousness he noticed on her, made him chuckled in amusement.
"Why am I finding this action of yours, cute and amusing?" Warren stated, much to himself, and chuckled again.
Rose heard what he had said, but was expressionless to it. She wanted to maintain the seriousness and fierceness.
"Okay, take a seat and tell me about the supposed irresistible offer!" He told her.
Rose smiled a little and immediately took the seat opposite him.
"Take me in, Mr Warren Wellesley!" Rose told him and Warren couldn't stop himself from chuckling.
"I am not kidding, Mr Warren!" She quickly said and that made him stop laughing.
He peered at her and all he could make out from her face was seriousness.
"Okay, let us pretend that you are not kidding, now tell me, I should take you in as what?" He pulled a straight face and inquired.
"As whatever you wish, sir?" She said that more like a question.
"I must say, you are a very brave young woman, for even approaching me with that offer of yours. But young lady, are you not afraid of what I might do to you, when you are asking me to take you in as whatever I wish?" He asked her.
"And doesn't it cross your mind at all, that I might actually wish for you to do whatever you want to me?" She deadpanned and eyed him dreamily. Going further, she bit her lower lip and blinked her eyes.
"Is that so?" He asked her, again.
"Yes, Mr Warren!" She replied him.
"So, why do you think that is going to be an irresistible offer for me?" He inquired, further.
"Because you are going to benefit a lot from it. A lot of benefits await you, Mr Warren, trust me! From the one you could think of, at this moment, down to the one you haven't thought of!" She maintained, firmly. She was still maintaining the fierceness.
He scoffed at her audacity.
"Okay, fine! I have humoured you enough. You just made me lose my appetite!" He announced and stood up.
Rose realized that the method she was using won't help her achieve her goal. She quickly switched her tone and posture to a calmer and flexible one.
"This is an adult woman to an adult man conversation, you know?" She asked him, gently.
"No, it is not. It is rather a kid to an adult man conversation!" He retorted.
"I am not a kid, Mr Warren! I am 20! I know what I am doing and I know the consequences of my actions." She insisted.
He shook his head and made to leave but Rose quickly stood up and block his way.
"Aren't you tired of being alone since all these years? Are you going to tell me you don't lack the presence of a woman by your side and in your house?" She asked him.
"I would rather have such conversation with an actual adult woman who is thinking straight!" He told her and walked away.
"Oh no! No! That is not how it should play out!" Rose gritted and clenched her fists. She felt frustrated.
"I guess I am actually sleeping on the cold street, tonight! I hope I won't die while ..." She was busy lamenting bitterly but suddenly stopped midway, because of what she just saw.
"It seems I won't be sleeping on the street tonight, but rather in a billionaire's quarter!" She stated to herself, happily as she watched Warren Wellesley walked back to her.
"What time would you be closing from work?"
That was the question she had thought he would ask her, immediately but she was so wrong.
The man obviously didn't come back for her. He had walked up to the table and grabbed a set of keys he left there.
He didn't say a word to her, as he walked away, again.
Rose swallowed hard.
"I just failed, huh?" She stated and gritted her teeth. She was disappointed.
"No worries, I will find another way to get through to you." She said and went back to work.
~
"Well, I got to do what I have to do. Mr Warren, your son made me homeless, so it is only fair to me, for you to be the one who takes me in." Rose stated.
It was after work and she was standing in front of Warren's building under reconstruction, opposite her restaurant, with her luggage.
She looked up at the building and exhaled sharply.
"I am sleeping in this building until you come and take me to your home. I have no way to go." She stated and sneaked into the building, evading the security men who were on guarding the area.
"At least, this is safer for me than sleeping on the street!" She said.
~
"Who are you?"
"What the heck are you doing here?"
"You do know you are not supposed to be here under any circumstances, right?"
Those were the words that woke Rose up, the following morning. She had been so tired that she slept so soundly throughout the night till late in the morning, as she had forgotten to set her alarm.
She rubbed her palm on her face as if to wipe away the sleep from there and she quickly jumped onto her feet when she saw the owner of the angry voice.
It was the huge man- Warren's bodyguard!
"Oh, he is here? So early?" Rose thought as she scanned the environment for Warren, to no avail.
"Cat got your tongue, young lady?" The huge man snapped at her, as she wasn't replying him. That seemed to irk him.
"Or he is not here? Oh, no!" She reasoned and frowned.
"Very well! Since you have decided to keep mute, I won't have any choice but to hand you over to the police for trespassing, breaking in and stalking!" The huge man announced and immediately pulled out his phone from his pocket.
"Oh my God! No! What should I do?" Rose panicked as she thought of what do. She was alarmed.
In a second, the huge man had informed the police, and from what Rose managed to hear, the police would get there any time soon.
"I can't get arrested! That would be problematic. What should I do to prevent this?" Rose clenched her fists and thought.
As she panicked, while standing rooted to a spot, the huge man was busy peering at her. He was trying to figure out where he had seen her from, and he finally remembered after some seconds.
"It is you! From the restaurant! I knew you were acting suspicious the first time I saw you. You are really a stalker, right?" The huge man asked her.
"No, absolutely not! Trust me, I can never ..." She was trying to deny but the man didn't allow her to land.
"Don't worry! I have dealt with numerous stalkers before. I can take care of you by myself, before the arrival of police. Actually, my own method gets rid of stalkers, completely and for good!" The man informed her and approached her menacingly.
He curled up his fist into a ball and aimed for her face as soon as he got closer to her.
