"I am so sorry for your loss! That is really saddening to hear." Warren said to her, comfortingly.
"They were in a car wreck, together! I wasn't expecting to see them end up like that. It is so overwhelming!" Rose told him, solemnly.
"Well, that wasn't completely a lie. I actually lost a dear friend and a lover last night, just not to the cold hands of death!" Rose stated inwardly.
"But to the harsh hands of betrayal and deceit!" She added, firmly.
Her blood was starting to boil again as she remembered what had happened and she clenched her fists, tightly.
"To be able to find peace and happiness, I must get my revenge!" She concluded, in her mind.
"That is really sad. I can imagine how you would be feeling. I have also experienced the lost of a beloved, so I have been there, trust me. The pain is still as fresh as new." Warren informed her.
"Oh ..." Rose muttered and stopped sobbing.
"Yeah. It is okay to let it all out, alright. Bawl if you have to, mourning openly will help you heal faster and be able to move on with your life!" Warren said to her, as comforting as possible.
"I don't think I would be able to move on, alone. Those two were all I had. They were the parents I didn't have, and also the siblings I never had. I relied on them too much and never thought they would leave, in that way. I feel like ending it, all." She stated, sullenly.
Warren looked at her with empathy.
"No, don't say that! I am sure those two won't want you to do that. They would definitely wish for you to move on and live happily, if they truly love you." Warren told her.
"Right?" Rose stated, unsurely and Warren nodded, assuringly.
"Thank you, sir." She heaved a deep sigh and expressed her gratitude.
"It's okay, I am glad to be of a little help." He replied her.
She took a glance at his table and gasped.
"Oh, I am sorry I caused an interruption when you should be having your breakfast, quietly." She apologized.
"You have only taken few spoonfuls!" She pointed out, staring at his meal which was barely touched.
"Nah, that's okay! I actually won't have been able to eat more than the three spoonfuls, anyways. You didn't interrupt anything." He informed her and she muttered a 'oh'.
"And thank you for saving my ass, earlier, Ms ...?" He trailed off, and looked up at her to tell him, her name.
"Rose!" She informed him.
"Ms Rose! I hope you have a great day and may the souls of the deceaseds rest in peace. See you around!" He stated and stood up.
"And remember ending it is being hard and harsh on your innocent life. You didn't do anything wrong. It is destiny so don't be suicidal." He looked back and told her, as an afterthought.
"Thank you so much for consoling me, sir." She said, appreciatively and Warren walked downstairs with his bodyguards.
"That is it! What an unforgettable first encounter we had, there! I bet he would ever get it out of his memory. He is definitely going to come back here to look for me." Rose told herself and grinned mischievously.
"Elvin, how I wish you could witness this moment!" She stated and chuckled.
~
"Hey!" Isabella said to Rose. The latter didn't reply her as she just concentrated on her phone.
It was later that evening when Rose had gone back home from work and Isabella just got home from her weekend getaway with Elvin.
Isabella shifted uncomfortably as she took a seat on the sofa opposite the bed, where Rose was seated.
Awkwardness was thick in the air!
"Erm ..." Isabella cleared her throat.
"Cat got her tongue now? I thought she had a lot to say on Friday! Is she feeling remorseful now? Of course, you should be, bitch!" Rose stated, inwardly.
"We can't be like this to each other, you know! I mean, we stay together in this small room so we should definitely not be like this." Isabella began talking.
Rose didn't answer her but she was listening.
Isabella exhaled sharply before continuing.
"Can we just accept that the guy is mine now? If it is about helping you, I assure you, I will be there for you. You won't even feel the impact that you are no longer dating him. Because I will take care of your needs with the money I will be getting from him. And if my status is elevated, you should be assured that yours won't be the same, since you are my best friend!" Isabella told Rose.
Rose couldn't believe she heard her right. Her mouth was agape and she stared at Isabella with mixed feelings. She felt sick to her stomach, disgusted and at the same time, felt amused.
"How can a lady be this shameless? Are you really aware of the words coming out from your mouth? Did I even know you at all?" Rose wondered aloud.
"We aren't talking about shame here, girl! We are talking about fame, financial elevation and soft life! You know and would agree that I deserve a soft life, don't you? I mean, I have suffered too much in this life ..." Isabella paused and looked at her friend whose jaw was almost touching the ground, in shock.
"I need a man like Elvin Wellesley in my life, to turn my life around for good! I am not sorry, Rose, that guy is too good for only you to keep. You have had your share of him, allow me to enjoy him too!" Isabella added.
Rose huffed in annoyance.
"Do you even have an idea of how ridiculous you are sounding right now, Bella? I am so ashamed on your behalf, as a female. You are a disgrace to womanhood!" Rose sneered at her friend.
"Disgrace to womanhood, you say? This is being smart, girl! I know the kind of life I want, and I am not hesitating to go for it!" Isabella replied, and scoffed.
"Even to the detriment of a long-term friendship?" Rose asked, in utter disbelief.
"I am not asking us to stop being friends. I just need you to understand me that I won't let go of Elvin Wellesley after having a taste of him!" Isabella announced, firmly.
Rose clenched her fists, tightly. Her eyes were red and she was boiling with rage.
"I can't believe I once truly loved someone like you. I am angry at myself for ever believing in the bond and love we have shared over the years. I am so mad at myself right now as I am just finding out that what we shared was never real. You disgust me, Isabella!" Rose gritted out and stood up.
Isabella just grunted and shrugged her shoulders, nonchalantly. In her mind, she just couldn't believe why Rose was complicating such a trivial issue.
"I can't continue living with a brazen bitch like you! You can have the whole place to yourself." Rose gritted in anger as she threw some of her belongings in a bag.
"Just why are you being unreasonable? Do you even have any where to go to, from here? You don't have anybody, have you forgotten?" Isabella asked Rose and rolled her big, round eyes, dramatically.
Rose became more furious by her question and reaction.
"Fuck you, bitch! Even if I will die on the streets, tonight, I don't care. As long as I am not in the same space with you." Rose spat out with disgust and stormed out of the room.
"Oh, you prefer death? I can actually make your wish come true, faster!" Isabella stated to herself and chuckled, evily. Then she went after Rose.
