Chapter 3 - Just A Gamer

"Just who the hell is this guy," Li Ling thought. Sure, his hand speed was fast, but that didn't mean he could have defeated his opponent like that. If she knew what was going on in the head of Xu Long, she would be utterly shocked.

"His hand speed was fast and all, but why did he look so disappointed," thought Li Ling.

Xu Long only had one thought: "Slow."

It may have looked fast to any watching, but it looked so slow to him. He was hailed as having the fastest hand speed in all of Valor.

"I thought that since I reincarnated, I would have been given a body whose hand speed was faster than mine, but sadly that isn't true."

But he shouldn't let himself down. After all, the reason why his hand speed was that great was because he spent more than 10 years playing Valor. So of course his hand speed would be a little slower.

Not to mention it felt strange playing the game with this body, which meant that this might be the first time this body was playing the game, and if that's true, he couldn't wait to see how fast it could really go.

But one of the biggest problems he had was how his left and right hand moved in unison. It wasn't like he was playing a game; it felt like he was playing an instrument as his hands moved together in coordination, and that was a big flaw.

If he could find a way to break through from it, then he could once again reach his former glory.

Xu Long had a terrible habit of thinking too deeply as the lady whose chair he had taken was casually waiting for him to get back to her seat.

He finally noticed the woman, but when he was about to stand up, the assassin sent him another dueling request.

He was about to refuse it at first, but the girl's voice stopped him.

"Don't be shy. If you wanna play, then just play."

"Oh really? Thank you very much." He didn't even ask to confirm or not, but promptly agreed. After all, she was the one who agreed to it.

He promptly accepted the request.

"Oh, but I have a request. Can you not use any powers during the match?"

"Sure, why not?" Any sane person could see that her request was absurd, because any sane person could tell that using power skills was far stronger than normal attacks, but this guy agreed as if it was no big deal.

She wanted to observe his fingers and see how fast they were, and that was why she requested such an absurd thing.

The name of his opponent was Slasher, and the name of the knight he was using was Brave Warrior.

It seemed that unlike the first match, Slasher was staying back instead and was slowly circling around Brave Warrior. He had learned from his last mistake and wouldn't make the same mistake twice.

He circled around Brave Warrior for a while until he finally saw an opening and then closed in and slashed with his dagger.

But it seemed that Xu Long was already one step ahead of him, as with two clicks he easily blocked the attack and used a counterattack of his own.

"Now that I played that one match with you, I know your skill level, and I'm pretty sure even with this body I don't need to exert myself at all."

If it was usual, then he would have used a knock-up skill to raise his opponent up and use a combo, but sadly he had no access to those moves, so he just casually slashed. But Slasher was able to quickly recover and move away.

"Now that I've watched the way he plays, it's pretty easy to beat him."

This time, he made Brave Warrior leave a huge gap, and Slasher took the opportunity and ran towards him. Unbeknownst to him, this was all just part of Xu Long's plan as he moved his shield at just the right moment and blocked the sword again.

And with a tap of his mouse, he slashed with his sword, attacking Slasher once again. Slasher took quite a huge loss of health. It may have been true that assassins were faster than knights, but that was only true because knights carried a lot of heavy armor, which slowed them down, while assassins carried light armor. So that basically meant that the assassin took more damage from hits than a knight.

"He produces such fast movements, so why the heck are his hands moving that slow?" Xu Long's hands were tapping on the keyboard and mouse very slightly, almost as if he didn't want them to break.

His strategy was to just use his shield to block and then use his sword to counterattack easily. Usually this wouldn't work, as the opponent would realize it easily and try to do something else. But since Xu Long was purposely leaving gaps in his defense, Slasher was blindly taking the bait.

At the end, he won without losing a single health point.

Li Ling actually wanted to see him use a bit of skill, but in the end he won with such a simple tactic. Xu Long stood up from the chair and was prepared to leave.

"Wait, where are you going?"

Xu Long paused, turning back to face Li Ling. "I was just going to leave, but do you have another request?" He could see the curiosity in her eyes, and a part of him was intrigued.

"One more match," she said, her voice firm. "But this time, play seriously. Show me what you can really do."

Xu Long considered her request for a moment before nodding. "Alright, one more match."

He sat back down, cracking his knuckles. His opponent sent the duel request again, and Xu Long accepted it with a smirk. This time, he was going to show them what he was really capable of.

The match began, and Slasher immediately went on the offensive. Xu Long's fingers moved over the keyboard, executing a series of defensive maneuvers that blocked each of Slasher's attacks. His hands, though moving slower than he was used to, produced a symphony of clicks that echoed in the room.

Slasher tried to find an opening, but Xu Long's defense was impenetrable. Every attack was met with a perfect block, every attempt to dodge countered with a precise strike. Xu Long's hands moved like they were playing an intricate piece of music, each movement deliberate and calculated.

As Slasher grew more desperate, Xu Long decided to switch to the offensive. His fingers danced over the keyboard, executing a series of rapid attacks that left Slasher reeling. Each strike was perfectly timed, each movement a calculated step towards victory.

The room was silent except for the sound of Xu Long's clicks and keystrokes. It was a mesmerizing sight, his hands moving in perfect harmony with the game. Despite the slower speed, his precision was unmatched, his skill evident in every move he made.

Slasher tried to mount a counterattack, but Xu Long was always one step ahead. He blocked each strike, retaliating with devastating precision. His movements were fluid, almost graceful, as he maneuvered his character with expert control.

As the match went on, it became clear that Slasher was no match for Xu Long. His health bar dwindled, each attack chipping away at his defenses. Xu Long's hands continued their symphony, each click and keystroke a testament to his skill and experience.

Finally, with a series of quick strikes, Xu Long delivered the final blow. The word "Victory" flashed across the screen, and Xu Long leaned back, a satisfied smile on his face. His hands felt strange, almost foreign, but there was a sense of accomplishment.

Li Ling stared at him in awe, unable to believe what she had just witnessed. "Just who the hell is this guy?" she thought again.

Xu Long stood up, his muscles stiff from the exertion. "Thanks for the match," he said, giving Li Ling a nod.

"Wait," she called out, stopping him. "Who are you?"

Xu Long turned back, a small smile playing on his lips. "Just a gamer," he replied before walking away, leaving Li Ling and the rest of the onlookers in stunned silence.
