Chapter 3 - Like Father, Like Daughter

Back at home, Mia carefully prepared dinner for her two babies.

Even though she always wore a smile, James and Juliet could tell that something was off about her mood.

After dinner, James went back to his room and hacked into the mall's surveillance system.

Seeing that man following Mommy for a long time and then being bumped into by her, James's eyes narrowed slightly.

So, she had run into that scumbag Michael!

He even brought the other woman shopping!

No wonder Mommy wasn't smiling when she came home tonight.

The little guy bit his lip, turned around, and went into his sister's room, "We're taking action tomorrow!"

Early the next morning, Mia prepared breakfast, "James, Juliet, breakfast is ready!"

"Juliet stayed up too late watching cartoons last night, Mommy, you shouldn't disturb her."

James yawned as he came out of his bedroom, "By the way, Mommy, aren't you supposed to pick up something from the courier station today? We got stuff arrived from Europe."

Mia nodded, "I'll go after you finish your breakfast."

Having lived abroad for five or six years, she and her two babies had a lot of luggage. The courier station had called her yesterday to pick it up.

"Go now."

James said nonchalantly while eating, "We're not five-year-old kids anymore."

Mia sighed helplessly and left the house with her coat.

These two little ones were only six years old, but sometimes they seemed more mature than her.

Once Mia was far enough away, James quickly went back to his room. He watched the surveillance on the computer while making a phone call, "Juliet, are you there?"

Early in the morning, the Kingsley Group exuded an air of cold seriousness.

Employees stood in neat rows, respectfully waiting for the arrival of the big boss.

At the stroke of eight, an extremely luxurious car stopped at the entrance.

A man who looked like a butler quickly got out of the front passenger seat and opened the rear door.

A long leg encased in black trousers stepped onto the ground, and Michael Kingsley coldly emerged from the car.

He was cold and aloof, his presence so powerful and oppressive that it made it hard for people to breathe.

The man looked straight ahead, striding up the steps.

"Daddy—!"

Suddenly, a childish voice broke the silence.

Everyone quickly looked up.

They saw a little girl clumsily climbing up the steps.

She was wearing a pink princess dress. Although her face wasn't clearly visible, the aura of nobility around her was strikingly similar to that of Mr. Kingsley.

The little girl climbed the steps and hugged Michael's leg.

He was very tall, and she was very small. Her little white arms could only just manage to hold onto his calf.

"Daddy—" Juliet called out with a grievance in her voice.

Everyone was in an uproar!

Michael looked down at the small figure at his feet, a trace of irritation crossing his brow, "Let go!"

The little girl looked up, revealing a face that was seven or eight parts similar to Michael's, "Daddy..."

"Sir, this child..."

The butler beside him was shocked, his eyes widening. This child looked so much like Michael!

"Daddy, I want a hug—"

The little girl reached out her chubby hands, her big, watery eyes staring up at Michael.

Her eyes were crystal clear.

Michael's heart inexplicably softened.

He usually didn't like children, but today, for some reason, he had an urge to hold this strange little girl in his arms!

After a moment's hesitation, the tall man crouched down, picked her up, and strode into the building.

"Seal this area and investigate!"

There was no way such a small child could have appeared here alone.

"Mr. Kingsley, the DNA test results are in."

In the top-floor CEO's office, the assistant nervously handed over a report, "She... she is indeed your child."

Michael snatched the test results.

The kinship percentage confirmed that this little girl was indeed his child.

But he didn't remember being with any woman other than Mia...

Suddenly, he looked up at the little girl sitting on the sofa.

She was leaning against the sofa, hugging a plush bear, chewing on gummy candies, looking very at ease.

This familiarity was unlike someone who had come here for the first time.

He got up and walked over, "What's your name?"

"I'm Princess Juliet!"

"How old are you?"

The little girl looked up, smiled at him, and held up five fingers, "I'm six years old!"

Michael's heart skipped a beat!

Six years old!

If Mia hadn't died back then, the child they would have had would be six years old now!

Could it be that Mia didn't die in that car accident six years ago!?

A flash of excitement appeared in the man's eyes.
