"she's not moving, is she dead Ray?" a guy spoke in a hushed tone

"Boss said to bring her alive, I hope you didn't give her overdose of the drug otherwise you can as well say goodbye to this world" another guy with a very deep voice replied

Suddenly a phone rang noisily

I was awake but unable to move

"Yes boss, the target is with us now and the operation went well...Ray and I will be heading back to the base now so we can deliver the package to you"

Package! Are they referring to me?

The smell of cigarettes filled the car, I despise the smell of cigarettes so much

I can't breath properly as my mouth has been tied with what looked like a black clothing material

Help me! I tried to scream

My hands and legs have been tied up with a rope, I struggled to move

Fear gripped me

Where am I?

"I see you are awake smarty" a fat looking guy with an ugly scar on his forehead spoke, he is currently driving and after hearing his deep voice I assumed he's Ray

I closed my eyes hoping this is a dream but after opening it nothing changed

I have been kidnapped reality dawned on me

"Who are you?" I tried to ask but it only came out as a muffled sound

The guy smirked and continued driving without replying me. I tried to recall what happened and how I ended up in this situation

My head is spinning and I can't think properly

Who are these people and what do they want from me?

He talked about the package, are they trying to kill me?

Who would want to kidnap me and suddenly I remember Lawson and what transpired between us yesterday

Lawson is a ruthless gangster who once helped my dad in the past. My dad is the CEO of Liam Cooperation, one of the largest producers of electrical gadgets and when he was about to go bankrupt he asked Lawson a very rich and well connected gangster for help.

I was just five years old at that time and when it was time for my dad to pay Lawson back he requested to marry me.

My dad couldn't do anything back then because he was afraid of Lawson

"She's my only child Lawson I can't let you have her" he said fearfully

"Which is the more reason why I want her" Lawson said with a smirk

"Lawson please she is all I have, I'll pay you any amount you want" my dad begged

"Rules are Rules Liam, you said you would do anything to save your company" he said

"I was desperate then, I was indeed ready to do anything but not my daughter" My dad said with a shaky voice

"Keep your end of the bargain Liam and don't try to break the deal" Lawson replied meaningfully

I was young then and didn't quite understand what was going on until Lawson visited our house again on my thirteenth birthday

My parents had thrown a big birthday party for me on one of my fathers private island

Lawson came to the birthday party uninvited

When my father saw him I could see fear in his eyes. About seven armed men were guarding him

I saw my dad and Lawson going into the building so I followed sneakily and hid behind a door

"Have you...you come to take my daughter away" I heard my dad stutter

Take me away to where? I wondered

"You have not kept your promise Liam and you know what's going to happen if you break the deal" Lawson said while puffing a cigarette

My dad suddenly went on his knee

"Please....let my daughter stay with me, she's just thirteen and she's not even matured for marriage yet" my dad said in a hoarse voice, he sounded like he was going to cry soon

"Fine, I'll come for her when she's 18 and you better not give me another excuse" he said and turned to leave

I hid behind the door properly so he would not see me as he walked past me

From their conversation I knew my dad has signed a marriage contract with Lawson in order to save the company

There's no way I'll let that happen, I won't marry a gangster

I saw my dad clean his eyes, he was obviously crying

"What's the point of accumulating all this wealth, what's the point of saving the company when I am exchanging my daughter in return " I heard him mutter sadly as he turned to leave

The rest of the party didn't go well as I kept pondering on what I heard earlier

I'll ask my dad about it later, I thought as I joined the rest of my friends to continue the celebration.
