Chapter 25 - Chapter 25: Moving Into the Dorms

Wilt PoV

Wilt grunted as he carried his furniture up to his dorm. Resting was tough, but it was a necessity, as it helped improve his leg condition.

Upon reaching his room, he set down the furniture and took a moment to lean against the wall, catching his breath.

He was looking forward to the commencement of the new school year.

With a smile, he opened the door and hefted his couch back up, setting it inside the otherwise vacant room. The dorms at Kallen University weren't anything fancy, but their proximity to both the academic buildings and the sports facilities was a definite advantage.

The presence of multiple elevators for those who required wheelchairs was also a thoughtful addition. Even though Wilt no longer needed one after Loxus altered history by traveling back in time and downgrading the severity of his leg injury, the memory of it still lingered.

Grinning, Wilt began to get to work. The dorm rooms had a suite layout, having personal bedrooms, a kitchen, and a tiny living room.

He walked into his room where an empty clean bed awaited.

Wilt set the box of sheets and blankets he had carried up onto the pristine mattress. He had chosen a simple, yet comfortable set in shades of blue and grey, a reminder of the ocean waves that he loved to surf on during his free time.

He started by fitting the mattress with a soft, blue fitted sheet, smoothing out the wrinkles as he went. Next, he fluffed up the pillows, encasing them in grey pillowcases before placing them at the head of the bed. Finally, he unfolded the duvet, its cool, blue-grey surface inviting him to dive in and sleep.

Once his bed was set up, Wilt moved on to the rest of his room. He had brought a couple of posters from home - a few of his favorite basketball teams, a motivational quote that always inspired him, and a picture of the beach that always calmed him down.

He took his time placing them on the walls, wanting to create a space that was truly his own. A place where he could relax after a tough day of classes and training, a place where he could dream and plan his future.

Once he was satisfied with the layout of his room, Wilt moved on to the small kitchenette. He didn't have much in terms of kitchen appliances, but he made sure to unpack his small coffee maker and a few mugs. Morning coffee was a ritual he couldn't skip, the caffeine helping him kick start his day.

By the time he was done setting up his dorm, Wilt felt a sense of accomplishment. His room felt homely and inviting, a small piece of him in the midst of the vast university.

He took a last look around, his gaze landing on the neatly made bed and the posters on the wall. A sense of anticipation filled him. This was a new chapter in his life, a fresh start.

Chuckling to himself, the red haired youth decided to take a shower. Bringing everything to the dorm had made him break a slight sweat.

The bathroom, like the rest of the dorm, was compact yet functional. It was a sleek, modern space with white tiled walls and a large mirror above the sink, reflecting the soft glow of the overhead lights.

To the left was the shower area, separated by a frosted glass partition that provided privacy without making the space feel cramped. The shower head was a large, circular design, promising a refreshing shower experience.

To the right of the sink was a stainless steel towel rack, ready to hold his fluffy towels. Below the sink was a small cabinet, perfect for storing toiletries and other bathroom essentials.

Despite its small size, the bathroom was well-designed, with attention to detail. There were small hooks for hanging clothes and a non-slip bath mat for safety. The fixtures were all chrome, adding a touch of elegance to the otherwise minimalist design.

As Wilt stepped inside, he was reminded of how much effort the university had put into making the dorms as comfortable as possible for the students. It was a small detail, but it made him feel valued, reinforcing his decision to attend Kallen University.

With a contented sigh, Wilt turned on the shower, the sound of running water filling the room. He was ready to wash away the day's sweat and fatigue, to refresh himself for the exciting journey that awaited him.

Loxus pov

Loxus looked around as he entered his dorm room. It was pretty big by his standards. It looked like some kind of hotel suite. He went to one of the two rooms and sat down his kitten on the bed.

"Dusk, stay here. Okay?"

The kitten tilted his cute head and blinked at his human.

"I'm gonna go get some of my other stuff. Be right back!"

He rushed out of the room gasped as he saw Wilt stepping out of the other room, only wearing a pair of red briefs.

"Eh?" Wilt said, jumping.

Loxus couldn't help but let out a chuckle at the sight of Wilt, who had been caught completely off guard and was blushing furiously.

"Didn't know I was rooming with an exhibitionist," Loxus teased, leaning against the doorway with a smirk.

Wilt spluttered, trying to cover himself with his hands. "I... I thought my dormmate wasn't going to show up yet!" He retorted, his face growing even redder.

Loxus laughed, holding up his hands in surrender. "Alright, alright, I'll give you some privacy. Didn't mean to intrude."

Wilt muttered something under his breath, before darting back into his room and shutting the door. Loxus chuckled again, shaking his head. He didn't expect to room with that pesky guy. But he was kinda glad he was. If Wilt learned about Dusk, he could always threaten to hurt his leg to keep him shut up.

Still chuckling to himself, Loxus grabbed his keys and headed outside. His goons had "rented" a truck to help him move his stuff to the dorm. It was parked a little distance away, its back full of boxes filled with his belongings.

As he approached the truck, he was greeted by the sight of his goons, Brick, Concrete, Sand, Steel, and Rubber. They were all lounging around and chatting animatedly.

"Boss," Brick greeted him, pushing himself off the truck and standing at attention. The others followed suit, grinning widely.

"Hurry up and help me."

"Of course, boss," Steel replied, his tone serious as always.

Loxus nodded in satisfaction, before starting the task of unloading the boxes. With the help of his goons, it didn't take long for them to move all the boxes to his dorm room.

Wilt poked his head out of his room and froze.

"Hey, if it isn't the pretty boy we beat up some weeks back. Ya know, ya pack a real mean punch, kid," Sand said, laughing.

Wilt closed his door. Loxus imagined the guy screaming inside his head.

"Guys, you better go. Just incase he decides to call the cops."

They nodded and went on their way.

Loxus eyed Wilt's door. If that guy did try to call the police, though, then he wouldn't hesitate to do so. But Wilt seemed like a smart guy, he knew better than to anger Loxus.
