Loud noises from the outside interrupted the boss as he looked at his lackey. They both knew something was wrong when the painful howls of their men erupted in the corridor.
"What the hell is going on out there?" the boss yelled, staring at the doors. "What are you waiting for!? Go check it out!"
The lackey nodded, rushing outside. But before he could step outside, the door flew off its hinges and smashed into him, knocking him out cold. The boss's eyes widened as if he had seen a ghost. Cai was standing where the door once was.
Logan looked at her. She looked nothing like the last night. Her gaze was icy and focused as she looked around the room. Probably because she had smelled the blood too and thought the worst. Only when she saw Logan that her expression soften.
By then, the thugs Logan had knocked out, regained their senses, and immediately jumped to their feet.
"You guys should have stayed down," Logan mumbled, shaking his head.
