Chapter 3 - Quest I

What the fuck is this? A quest appearing already and I haven't even been in this world for a day yet. Fucking bullshit.

I mean reaching level 10 isn't impossible, in fact there will be a considerable amount of people who are already level 10 and maybe even higher than that but the problem with this is the time limit.

These people usually get a month to reach that level and they have their family backing them up with resources but with me, I have nothing.

"The fuck you mean S rank luck?? Clearly the system was messing with me." I muttered to myself.

Thinking back to the novel, I thought of areas I could maybe grind in and obtain levels and suddenly one such area came to mind. Actually it wasn't an area but rather a item however it was in a relatively dangerous place.

"Guess I'm getting it earlier than usual." This item was located in the North relatively far away from the Academy.

This world consisted of 4 empires that being firstly the human empire, secondly was the Elven empire, next the Dwarven empire, and lastly the demon empire.

In terms of power, humans could be considered the weakest of the 4 simply because they interacted with mana the last.

A hundred years ago, there was a catalyst in the sky and mana was introduced to Earth. Following this, other races such as Elves and dwarves started appearing and lastly demons.

Originally, humans were oppressed by the other races but humanity managed to make a deal with the other races so that they could slowly build up their power.

All 3 empires are at currently at war with the demon empire. The hero was supposed to kill the demon lord later in the story and the world would be at peace.

Anyways the place I was going to was called Junon in the North mainly situated near the mountains.

It was a pretty long trip from here so I decided to go and sleep and set out for the item tomorrow when I was all rested up.

Beep, beep, beep.

"Shut up.." I closed the alarm and woke up. Once I was all ready and dressed I went towards a bus stop following directions on my phone and waited for the next bus towards the North.

An hour later, I arrived at the place and found an inn to stay for my trip.

"Hello, I'd like to rent a room for a day to rest." I told the receptionist.

"Of course, it would only be 20ren." I gave the receptionist the money through my phone.

My bank account surprisingly had a decent amount of money. It had 12000ren which would be enough for a semester of tuition considering the first semester was already paid.

This world's money system was just 1ren would equal to 1 Canadian dollar because some author was too lazy to create an actual currency system. *ahem*

Anyways, I made my way to my room and set down all my things. The first thing I needed to do would make my way towards the mountain.

An hour later.

"Fuck... how am I going to climb this?" I wondered to myself as I stood before a towering cliff.

If my memory served me right, the hero originally came upon this place later in the novel and found a cave atop the cliff. The item I was looking for was actually a remanent soul of a old powerhouse that had died here.

The book I found was actually created by that person but without his recognition, you wouldn't be able to see anything written in the book.

"Looks like I'm going to have to climb up on my own." Thankfully, I didn't have to climb too much. Before this, I went to a shop and bought a few strength and agility potions just in case.

I opened both of them and gulped it down.

"It doesn't taste too bad, just a bit bitter." I gripped onto a stone and began my way up to the top.

"Don't look down, don't look down." I looked down.

"Shit, I'm so far up, if I fall I'll definitely die here." Steadying myself, I grabbed onto a rock and made sure it was steady before continuing.

"I can see the end, it's almost there." Infront of my eyes I saw that I was only a few more meters away from the top until my hand slipped.

"Fuck." I yelled out while my other hand was gripping on to dear life.

By god's miracle, I managed to steady myself and get to the top without losing my life.

"Never again am I doing that." I looked at the edge of the cliff and immediately distanced myself.

I stood up and scanned my surroundings. Everywhere here was rocky and there weren't really any plants here.

Walking forwards, I spotted the cave I was looking for. It looked like there wasn't anything inside it but I wasn't going to take any risks.

I took out another potion I bought from the alchemy shop and gulped it down. It felt that I was becoming one with my surroundings. I bought the invisibility potion so I didn't meet any monsters before reaching my destination.

As I entered the cave, I found that it was completely empty other than a few small organisms like spiders and such.

A few minutes later I met a dead end.

"Did I enter the wrong place?" This shouldn't be right, there shouldn't have been any other caves atop this cliff.

Suddenly I felt something hit my neck and everything went black.
