Two hours later.
At a frontline base, a hundred kilometers east of Odigat.
Since the company's Investigation and Armed Divisions had jointly taken full control of Harvest, the Engineering Department was operating without restrictions, rapidly expanding the base.
A shipyard equipped with several large mechanical arms had begun assembling modular Fides-class frigates, with Hex robots assisting in the welding process.
Moreover, if one observed the automated transport portal carefully, they would notice that its original size of 14 x 14 meters had been expanded to 24 x 24 meters, significantly increasing the efficiency of material and troop transport.
Inside the quarantine chamber connected to the command building's biological research center, where two incubation pods were located, Samuel stood with his arms crossed, watching Alexia work busily between the pods.
The expansion of the portal's size wasn't due to the hollow voice in his mind but rather the result of his psychic abilities. After conquering Terra in Universe 07, his psychic capacity had increased once again, allowing him to experiment with the portal.
After multiple attempts and expending a great deal of psychic energy, Samuel succeeded in expanding the eighth portal to 24 x 24 meters.
Though this was his current limit, the successful experiment meant that in the future, he could continue to enlarge it, strengthening the connection between different universes. The ruins base would undoubtedly become a landmark location for Earth in the prime universe.
By then, it would seem natural for the United Government of Humanity to transition into the Human Empire.
Additionally, Samuel had already ordered the Arkaim production base to use the detailed schematics provided by Ap to set up a temporary production line for the Shaw-Fujikawa jump drive, aiming to bring it into full production as soon as possible.
Unlike Atlas' original antimatter engines, which had to be fixed to the rear of the ship and connected to large nuclear fusion engines, the Shaw-Fujikawa jump drive was a detachable component.
In Halo Wars 1 and Halo: Reach, humanity even used these drives as strategic weapons.
Thus, once these critical components were added, Atlas' Serene and Fides ships would immediately be "upgraded" to space vessels capable of interstellar combat and transport.
With these considerations in mind, Samuel felt it was time to initiate the integration of Universe Two (Avatar).
Previously, even though the Science Division had upgraded the antimatter engines, he had not considered sending a fleet to Universe Two's Earth.
After all, crossing the 4.37 light-year distance between Pandora and Universe Two's Earth still required years of travel, and during such a long journey, both the fleet and the various universes presented considerable variables.
Most importantly, there was no effective solution for logistical resupply.
But now, all those issues had been resolved.
Lastly, there were the two newly arrived sons.
Samuel walked forward slowly, looking at the son curled up in the left incubation pod.
At the frozen lake's edge, he had recognized him as Corax, the gene-primarch of the Raven Guard from the 19th Legion.
With his fair skin, handsome features, and black hair, it was hard for Samuel to mistake this son, who had been raised by a group of workers in the Warhammer 40k universe.
Moreover, in the original timeline, Corax was one of the only two gene-primarchs who could be said to have had a "complete" and "relatively happy" childhood—the other being his eldest son, Guilliman.
Corax also possessed a literal "invisibility" ability.
He could walk among crowds without anyone noticing him, as if people's subconscious minds erased the giant primarch from their awareness, choosing to ignore him. Even advanced monitoring equipment struggled to track Corax.
During the Horus Heresy, Corax and his Raven Guard suffered heavy losses but continued to fight on the front lines and infiltrate behind enemy lines.
One of his most famous feats was the beating he gave to the traitor primarch Lorgar Aurelian, both before and after Lorgar's ascension to daemonhood.
"This is a child who won't cause trouble."
Seeing Corax shift positions, curling up to continue sleeping, Samuel couldn't help but smile slightly.
Atlas' gene-seed cultivation technology was now mature, and once Corax came of age, creating a chapter similar to the Raven Guard Astartes would also be on track.
As Samuel had previously told Fulgrim, Leman, and Angron, the company would need several, if not more than ten, years to stabilize the Halo universe.
Thus, the Halo universe might very well be the stage for the Astartes Chapter's first combat debut.
Next was the son lying in the right incubation pod.
Though his figure appeared somewhat thin, he was still within the range of good health, though his lips were a bit chapped.
These features pointed to the gene-primarch of the 14th Legion, the Death Guard—
Mortarion.
In Warhammer 40k, Mortarion's homeworld was Barbarus, a world shrouded in poisonous fog where humans were enslaved by various alien warlords and mutants.
Mortarion had been raised by the strongest of these warlords, an upbringing that directly influenced his stubborn personality and his eventual obsession with personally slaying his foster father.
Just when Mortarion, having escaped the warlord's control, had adapted to a farmer's life and was leading his fellow human comrades in rebellion, preparing for the final assault on his foster father, the Emperor of Mankind descended upon Barbarus with overwhelming power.
The Emperor killed the warlord, "saving" Mortarion from peril.
However, this "noble and heroic" act left the stubborn primarch resentful, as he believed the Emperor had robbed him of his chance for personal vengeance.
Combined with his feelings of inferiority and resentment toward his brothers, his poor relationships with most of the legions, and his hatred for all psykers, including the Emperor, Mortarion eventually chose to betray the Imperium.
Before his forced transition to another universe, Samuel had viewed Mortarion's self-contradiction as comparable to Perturabo's, and Mortarion's various clownish actions after his betrayal left Samuel with little fondness for the Lord of Barbarus.
However, Mortarion was undeniably a skilled tactician. Samuel hadn't finished painting his Mortarion miniature when he was forcefully transported to Earth in the prime universe.
After a century of personal growth and raising numerous primarchs who had once betrayed the Emperor in Warhammer 40k, Samuel found himself viewing Mortarion with a degree of pity.
Now that Mortarion was his son, Samuel would still treat him equally, patiently guiding and correcting his stubborn nature.
To be honest, Samuel felt deep regret over not being able to spend more time accompanying Fulgrim, Leman, and Angron on their adventures. That's why, in recent days, he made sure to keep the three children by his side during missions.
"Ah~." At this moment, Alexia, having completed her preliminary examination, exhaled and turned to face Samuel with a smile, saying:
"The two children's physical functions are normal. By the way, I'd like to start experimenting with AI integration right away. May I have your approval, boss?"
