Chapter 125 - Battleground

AWUUU!!

Atlas and Uranus fought countless battles the following day. But on the second day, the dangers were higher than average.

ROAR!!

Uranus was battling a massive wolf with brown claws.

It was an opponent compared to him in power, so it took him all his effort to handle its brutal force.

Even after half an hour, the battle was still ongoing. Uranus's body was severely battered, yet his fighting spirit was burning fiercely.

On the other side, Atlas was facing something even more problematic. Indeed, he was surrounded by two Carnelian Wolves, a particular species of canids with massive bodies and claws as hard as diamonds.

They were both Chaos Creatures at the Peak Stage of the Primordial Descendant Lord Realm, something more challenging to handle than the one against his companion.

Blood was leaking from some parts of his body, fomenting the bloodthirsty desire of the wild beasts.

It was a battle to the death, and Atlas's arsenal was fully displayed with the Impenetrable Void Shield on his left forearm and his loyal companion on the right.

It was a perfect combination to give the young man some hope.

"Mother Earth Grip!"

A hand came out from the ground large enough to hold the beast in its grip, yet the Carnelian Wolf reacted faster than his imagination and evaded the technique.

AWUUU!!

While his companion was handling Atlas's technique, the other kept attacking the young man's side with his indestructible claws. Each of them was scarier than anything he had seen before, yet Atlas stood composed, facing the enemies with all his heart.

AWUUU!!

Atlas wasn't the only one with powerful techniques. Indeed, the creatures had something similar too.

They were innate abilities inherited from their ancestors, mainly related to their natural element affinity.

AWUUU!!

Amid the battle, one of them jumped back. The beast wasn't scared but ready to unleash its ability.

As if to respond to the call from the creature, the soil around it got a little hectic.

Atlas felt an inexplicable sense of danger on one side and jumped in the air. However, it was too late because a mound of sharp spikes erupted from the ground, piercing his right foot.

"Damn..."

Badly wounded, Atlas tried to cover back, but another enemy was around, and it didn't let him rest even for a moment.

A pungent stench came from his back. Atlas knew what it was and lowered his upper body, evading a terrible fate.

The other wolf passed right on top of his head. Its attempt was null, yet its claws left a deep wound on Atlas's left shoulder.

Forced to retreat once again, Atlas activated the Earthly Blessing, one of his first abilities. It was from a lower grade but more than enough to briefly slow the bleeding.

The assault from the enemies kept coming incessantly. He couldn't even take the elixir from his space bag.

The smell of blood propagated all around, driving the beast crazy. Their roar of madness echoed throughout the maze.

"Damn these creatures... Uranus can't help me... and these two are stronger than I expected. Unfortunately, there is no other choice..."

Atlas took a deep breath and shouted: "Stony spirit!!!"

Summoned by his master, a massive creature taller than fifteen feet stepped out from a portal.

GRARL!!!

The Stony Spirit knew well its duty and charged forward like a mad bull.

The creature's appearance stunned the wolves, but they were driven mad by the battle and reacted with even more ferocity.

The Stony Spirit's giant hands collided with one of them, smashing its body onto the ground. With feral blows, the Stony Spirit stopped one of them, yet its companion wasn't idle either.

Feeling the danger, the Carnelian Wolf cast another ability toward the giant and then jumped on its back with the clear intent of stopping the creature.

The battle was shifted momentarily, giving Atlas a brief moment, yet he knew that Stony spirit's power was limited since he was in his same realm.

Drinking one of the elixirs, the Chaos Energy's reserve filled up again, but there was no time to rest.

Atlas knew what he needed to do...

It was a bit dangerous, yet it could give him a chance...

Filled with resolve, Atlas charged forward. The Impenetrable Void Shield disappeared, leaving space for something even more ominous.

Atlas was only one step away from the Stony Spirit's back when a shout reverberated in his mind: "Ruthless Void Blade!!"

The space around his hand twisted, and a majestic dark blade appeared in his grip.

Atlas felt his Chaos Energy being sucked at an abnormal speed.

"Faster... I must kill one of them."

With a jump, Atlas stood only a few inches from the Carnelian Wolf and slashed down brutally.

The creature's senses were formidable. It felt the danger and turned back. Alas, Atlas was ready and, with his right hand, caught the beast's muzzle.

"Die bastard!!"

The Ruthless Void Blade landed on the wolf's mouth, lacerating the skin from side to side.

Blood came out copiously, but it wasn't a deadly wound for the beast, or at least those were its thoughts because just as his paw was ready to open Atlas's chest, they stopped.

The malignant side effect was acting, devouring the wolf's brain entirely.

"Finally..."

One was down, but Atlas's Chaos Energy and the Ruthless Void Blade were gone.

There were still enemies in the field, so he took another elixir from his space bag. Unfortunately, the draining power was still acting, nullifying every attempt to regain even a bit of energy.

He was tired and wounded, but he couldn't stop right now.

Thanks to the Devourer of Chaos, his body was stronger than ordinary Martial Cultivators. It was like another deadly weapon in his arsenal.

Holding his loyal companion in his hand again, Atlas ended the poor wolf's life under the Stony spirit's enormous rocky hands.

It was a clean and simple movement, but more than enough to penetrate the enemy's defense.

A head rolled on the ground, leaving only one enemy on the battleground.

Looking to the side, Atlas found that Uranus's body was covered in scars and blood, yet he had no fear in his eyes.

"Hehe... truly a worthy companion... Stony spirit, help him..."

He did not need to meddle in the last battle, so he stood still, absorbing the purified Chaos Energy from the area with ease.

"Almost there..."

Aw...

A defiant howl of rage came from the side, yet it was cut short when the wolf's head was smashed onto the ground.

The area was filled with even more energy, a clear sign that the enemy was dead.

Ohm... Ohm...

Atlas's body started trembling...

"Just a tiny more..."

Ohm... Ohm...

The devouring power sucked everything around him and...

Crack...

Atlas felt his body lighter, as if a heavy load had been removed from his shoulder.

"Fiu..." After a long sigh, a wide grin appeared on his face.

"Intermediate Stage of Primordial Descendat Lord... Hahaha..."
