The lose of the commander could might have crippled our army but I guess I should thank him for his death led to my promotion.
As the new commander it is my duty to give a speech at their funeral. As I stand from my seat I face a sea of faces."The soldiers that are about to be laid to rest here we're more than just people. They were warriors who fought for what they believed to the bitter end. All of us are here because of their sacrifice. They had our backs on the field .And I hope they rest easy knowing that their parents , siblings, children are safe .The fallen Commander Revrien ,Alex Vendur ,Alice Revold ,Assagi Ander and many more may you find peace wherever you are."
As the crowd answered back"May you find peace"
After the ceremony and the parade of weeping families I realize nothing of the fact that people lost their lives really affect me. As the sun set I return home. I have to talk to my father about me remaining in the family.
I knock on the door to his study and he mummers an enter. Father"Child why are you knocking on my door at this hour?"
And I reply"Father I have come with a request .I request that I am to be striped of my title as a Lady of the Argent House."
"And why would I do that. Are you getting cocky because of your promotion? You think I will let you go now that you have a position in the empire?"
"As I expected of you father. Then I will have to behave in a manner unbefitting of a Lady .Let us see how much you can take of a daughter damaging your reputation.
"If this is a challenge I gladly accept dear daughter"
Just then the door is opened by an advisor.
As the advisor bows to great"Lord Argent ,Lady Argent .My Lord I have gotten word from our friends across."
I stand up"I guess this is my queue to exit. Dearest father shall we continue our conversation when I show an example of my sencerity."
"Then I will see you another day my beloved daughter."
As I am about to leave I run into one of my younger sisters, Irene who runs to me with joy.
"Sister Iris ooh how I have missed you. You really gave me a fright when I was informed about you joining the army. You have no idea how worried I was."
At least someone was worried about me.
