Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: i am iron.....bar man

According to memories from his previous life, the escort team James was with had already entered the territory of that mutated boar.

However, the security team members were still joking around, treating this extermination mission like a sightseeing tour.

James couldn't stand it any longer and whispered, "If we go a little further west, there seems to be a pig processing plant. There might be mutated beasts inside."

As soon as he said this, the team leader frowned, and the other team members seemed unconcerned. One of them, named "Aiden," even patted his gun and said with a laugh, "Let them come, the more pigs, the more they'll die."

"Quiet, Aiden. Everyone, stay alert and increase vigilance!" The leader scolded, sensing a hint of danger.

Suddenly, urgent gunfire and the roar of the boar erupted.

James's eyes lit up. He was very familiar with that sound—it was the mutated boar!

The team members were also startled by the boar's roar. The leader shouted, "Quick, move in to support!"

He then ran swiftly, followed by the other team members. James deliberately slowed his pace and slipped into the thick mist.

"Who…" Emma, seeing James disappear into the fog, was startled but couldn't chase after him. She could only follow the main team towards the sound of the gunfire.

"Mutated boar, in my past life, I was chased by you for over thirty kilometers. Now it's my turn to hunt you." James grinned and, hidden in the fog, headed towards the boar.

About two hundred meters away, a massive beast was rampaging between densely packed buildings.

Wow, in just a few days, an ordinary pig had grown to the size of a floor, almost as big as an elephant. It had developed tusks nearly a meter long, transforming from a docile pig to a brutal beast.

The boar had already knocked down four or five people, some with their bodies mangled beyond recognition. The remaining few were still shooting, but the boar's thick skin meant that the bullets from their submachine guns merely splattered a bit of blood and caused no real harm.

"Hurry, shoot!" Emma's team finally arrived and immediately began shooting. They soon realized the terrifying fact that the boar was impervious to bullets, causing them to be horrified.

"Boss, this mutated pig isn't afraid of guns," one of the team members cried out.

"What do we do? It's charging at us!" Aiden saw the elephant-sized boar charging towards him and trembled, his submachine gun's fire unable to stop the terrifying boar.

"Withdraw!" Emma, taking a few steps, ran to the right front of the boar, within less than twenty meters. She fired a burst of bullets at the boar's face.

With a roar, the boar, its eyes exploded, turned to charge at Emma in a frenzy.

"Fall back, fall back!" The leader's face went pale with fear.

At that moment, Emma felt like she was covered by a giant wall, with a sense of no escape.

Suddenly, a figure flashed through the dense fog from afar. At the same time, a black streak shot through the air, piercing the boar's eye and going straight through to its brain.

The boar stiffened and fell to the ground, sliding over ten meters before stopping less than half a meter from Emma.

"This…" Emma stared blankly at the boar, which had a steel rod sticking out of its eye.

She turned to look in the direction from which the steel rod came but saw no one in the fog.

"Who was that?" Emma wondered.

The other team members, seeing the boar dead, were overjoyed and sighed in relief. When they gathered around and saw the steel rod piercing the boar's head, they were astonished, saying, "That's terrifying, using a steel rod to pierce the boar's skull."

"This steel rod seems like an ordinary one, not like it was fired from any weapon. Could it have been thrown by hand?"

"Stop making stuff up. Who could have that much strength?"

The security team was both shocked and amazed, while Emma quietly looked in the direction where the figure had vanished.

The figure seemed somewhat familiar.

After the boar was taken down, the security team, now low on ammunition, stopped their advance and called for headquarters.

Soon, a tow truck and crane arrived from headquarters. The team members were dumbfounded when they saw the steel rod in the boar's head.

The quirky Aiden chuckled and said, "This boar was so fierce. If it weren't for the 'Steel Rod Hero,' we'd have been in danger."

"Steel Rod Hero?" The others were momentarily confused but soon understood.

In a corner a hundred meters away, James, hidden in the fog, heard the term "Steel Rod Hero" and couldn't help but be speechless.

"They actually took the boar away. My boar meat! Such a pity!" James had been waiting to collect the boar's carcass but was dismayed to see them call a truck to take it away.

His long-awaited boar meat was gone.

"No way, I need to look around some more. Maybe I can find another boar!" James, still unwilling to give up, dove back into the fog. After all, a foodie's dedication to good food often leads to remarkable traits like persistence, patience, and effort.

James searched the western city area for a while but found no other boars. Just as he was about to leave, he suddenly heard a "quack-quack" sound.

His eyes brightened with excitement. "It's that mutated duck!"

The mutated duck had been quite happy recently. Originally, it had been dull, merely eating and sleeping. But after the foggy day, its rarely used brain seemed to have awakened, and it began to understand many things.

Moreover, it discovered that it was growing bigger and stronger. Just the day before, it had broken out of its pen.

Upon reaching the street, it noticed that the strange animals that used to feed it were very frightened and wary of it.

The mutated duck was puzzled but felt an instinctive drive guiding it. Following this instinct, it had attacked an old, weak two-legged creature, breaking open its head with its hard beak and tasting the red and white substance inside.

This moment was like opening the door to a new world for the mutated duck, and it had become completely enamored with the taste of the red and white substance.

So today, it came out again, but it seemed unlucky, not encountering any of the two-legged creatures it used to be fed by. Just as it grew frustrated, a figure appeared about thirty meters in front of it.

The figure was none other than James.

"Finally found it. Spicy duck neck is within reach." James thought with delight and took out the steel rod he had prepared.

"Quack, quack." The mutated duck was equally excited, thrilled to taste that delicious flavor again.

In that instant, both James and the duck's eyes sparkled, and they shared a smile of fellow food lovers.

Moments later, James stepped on the mutated duck and yanked the steel rod out of its body with a triumphant grin.

"Last life, this mutated duck chased me for three whole streets. Today, I've finally gotten my revenge." James picked up the one-meter-high mutated duck and threw it into the mysterious space, then clapped his hands and said with a smile, "Let's go home and have duck for dinner tonight!"
