Chapter 292 - Chapter 292 Industrial Investment

After seeing off the two big stars, Barron packed up and prepared to go out.

It is worth mentioning that in addition to sending his own private jet to pick up more than 30 singers from all over the world, Prince Waleed will continue to send his own private jet to send those people away in the next few days.

And every star who comes here will receive a Mercedes-Benz luxury car as a gift from him.

It is indeed a grand deal.

Barron met with several wealthy people from the Middle East this afternoon...

In fact, these wealthy people often don't get up as early as Barron - relatively speaking, in this area, the evening is the main time for most people to go out, especially in the summer.

Because it is only June, the highest temperature here has already reached 40 degrees. In July and August, it will exceed 50 degrees. Therefore, unless it is necessary, going out during the day is indeed very challenging.

It was said to be afternoon, but by the time everyone arrived, it was already getting dark...

Barron also attaches great importance to this meeting. After all, these wealthy people may become his "financial sponsors".

Just like when chatting with Walid before, the richest man in the Middle East was quite interested in Summit Media, which was about to go public under Barron's name, and was also interested in participating in the next round of financing for Woaw website.

As for Summit Media, since it is preparing for a public listing, it doesn't matter who subscribes to its shares. Therefore, if Prince Waleed is willing to participate in the IPO subscription, Barron would also welcome it.

As for Woaw, the prospect of this social networking site has been recognized by more and more people, but the problem is that Woaw does not lack funds for its development. Barron himself can fully provide it with funds before listing. The financing it has carried out is entirely for the purpose of obtaining other resources to ensure that it will not be targeted by certain means in future competition...

Therefore, when Walid expressed his intention to invest in Woaw, Baron could only say sorry and politely declined.

If Walid, known as the "Buffett of the Middle East", can see the potential of many companies under Barron's name, then some other tycoons are more interested in financial investment. After all, the main purpose of their investment is to preserve or even increase the value of the wealth they have seized from oil resources.

Prior to this, Prince Walid had already invested $500 million in DS Investment's quantitative fund Athena. This investment is a fixed-income investment product. Such investment returns are already very rare for large funds.

As long as the stability of this type of investment product can be proven in the end, many wealthy people in the Middle East will be interested in purchasing these products.

In terms of fixed income products, there are Athena funds, and for those investors who like a little risk and the possibility of higher returns, there are also Mars funds for them to choose from.

Barron can even customize a fund specifically for these big money sponsors, with the main goal of "meeting customer needs."

In addition to these private funds, during this meeting, Barron also met Badr Mohammed El Salad, President of the Kuwait Investment Authority (KIA).

Previously, Saudi Arabia's sovereign fund, the Saudi Public Investment Fund, invested 1 billion pounds to purchase O2 Telecom's convertible bonds, and can earn 3.5% interest every year... Of course, what they care about is not this little interest, but these corporate bonds, which will allow them to exchange these corporate bonds for O2 Telecom's common stock at the stock issue price when O2 Telecom goes public.

This is exactly why the Saudi Public Investment Fund is willing to make this investment. After all, even if O2 Telecom goes public and publicly issues shares in the future, they may not be able to subscribe to enough shares. However, through this convertible corporate bond form, they can lock in the stock shares of this telecommunications company that they are optimistic about in advance.

Like the Saudi Public Investment Fund, the Kuwait Investment Authority also hopes to invest in this way, but Bader is also more interested in the new cooperation plan proposed by Barron to them.

The plan is that Barron will establish an industrial investment fund, mainly to invest in and acquire some companies, and then enhance the overall value after restructuring.

Due to the long-term growth attributes of this industrial investment fund, the minimum lock-up period for investment funds is 3 years.

For this fund, Baron himself will provide an initial investment quota of no less than 30% and guarantee an average annual return of at least 15%. Under this return, as the fund manager, Baron and his team will not charge any management fees, and during each investor's first investment lock-up period, Baron will use his own assets as collateral to ensure the safety of the other party's principal.

Of course, in response to this strong guarantee, Barron will share the profits in proportion to the investment amount during each investment lock-up period of the other party.

When the rate of return is between 15% and 50%, he will charge 30% of the other party's profit.

When the rate of return is between 50% and 100%, he will receive 40% of the other party's profit.

When the rate of return is above 100%, he will receive 50% of the other party's profit.

The rules of this industrial investment fund he proposed can be said to have hit the spot for the Kuwait Investment Authority...

First of all, this fund is a relatively large investment fund with extremely high entry barriers and a minimum investment amount of US$500 million, which basically excludes most private funds.

In addition, Barron used his own assets as collateral for compensation for losses, which could ensure that their investment would not incur losses, at least during the first closed period.

And only if the average annual return during this closed period is above 15% can management fees be charged. In other words, if this cannot be achieved, then in the worst case, they will be able to get their principal back after a closed period, and even no management fees will be deducted - in fact, among all the funds in the world, a considerable number of them are operated solely on management fees...

As for the profit share of this fund... the Kuwait Investment Authority is hoping that Baron and his team can get a higher share, which means that the rate of return they earn will be higher.

It can be seen that after Barron proposed the idea of this industrial investment fund, Bader was still very excited. He said that he would discuss with the board of directors of the Kuwait Investment Authority as quickly as possible and finally reply to Barron whether to participate in this industrial investment fund.

Barron was very satisfied with the results of this meeting.

Many wealthy people in the Middle East and some investment institutions have shown interest in the fund products of DS Investment Company. As for how much funds can be attracted in the end, it will be determined after specific negotiations in the next few days.

Next, Daisy, CEO of DS Investment Company, will personally bring her team to Riyadh to negotiate with these wealthy people and investment institutions, so there will be no need for Barron to come in person.

"Your Highness, what are you talking about?"

When the meeting ended, when Barron returned to the "tent" where he was staying with Prince Walid, he saw Princess Alina chatting with Alia, and the two seemed to have a very close relationship with each other.

"We just talked about some women's things. Also, I was a little curious about your family's charitable foundation, Your Highness the Duke."

Princess Alina finished speaking, and Alia beside her continued:

"Her Royal Highness is also in charge of the Walid Foundation, which has done a lot of charity work in various places. However, she asked about the Devonshire Charity Foundation, and I don't know much about it..."

"Your Highness, it is just as you said. The princess is a career woman. You are all worthy of respect for being able to focus so much on charity. Our Devonshire Charity Foundation has also held some activities in this regard. If you are interested, I can give you a brief introduction..."

  "That's great..."

After Prince Walid sat down next to her, Princess Alina gave him a sweet smile and turned to Barron and said:

"Perhaps we can work with your foundation to hold charity events in the future."
