"So Ruby want to tell me why you and your hot-headed sister here," Milo gestures at Rudy on the ground writing from the consequences of not taking the a warning properly, "have been looking for me for?"
"Fuck you prick!" Rudy groans as he tries breathing through the pain
"Uh we wanted you to help us. The Goddess told us we were selected for a special purpose. To protect humanity and allow her to ascend to the heavens once again," Ruby says hesitantly, "so we founded the Shattered Quill with the help of the church to protect the planet from threats as well as find the Goddess and you because you hold her powers like Rudy and I."
"So basically she changed her tactics after I pissed her off. Of course the little imp did that," Milo scoffs
"Imp! You can't just call the goddess a...!" Ruby says loudly standing up shout just as quickly calming down as she gets a glare from Milo, "you can't just say that, Milo. She's the goddess who created this world," she tries to reason with him
"Yeah no she isn't. And we're not the only planet with life. It's just a magic filter around the world that alters any kinda image from outside the atmosphere to prevent us from looking for alien life," Milo says
"What are you saying? That you're one of those heretics that don't believe the words of the goddess?" Ruby ask looking a little irritated now.
"Is it heretical if I'm being pragmatic because I've seen it myself and more than you can possibly know?" Milo ask.
"What are you talking about? How could you have seen so much and still choose to stay silent?" Ruby ask her curiosity getting the better of her
"Because I've met them. Aliens. Other life. Other Gods. And staying in this little bubble is the only reason life is continuing on this little mudball of a planet we inhabit," Milo says, "do you want to see what I did when I first got my powers?" He offers her his hand as she sees a faint glow in it.
