Chapter 19 - Chapter Nineteen

The car ride to the bus stop was a tense silent one. Crescent Valley was a tiny town and everything was within close proximity but between the tension in the car and the fact that I was alone with the father of my aunt's murderer, it felt like hours before the jeep pulled up in front of the bus stop.

The bus stop was in the middle of a long stretch of quiet empty road surrounded by miles and miles of forests. A small empty bus shelter was waiting for me when I got out of Alpha Jake's car. He handed me my pink suitcase, shifting uncomfortably on his feet.

"I can wait with you if you'd like," he offered, wringing his hands nervously.

"I'm fine," I croaked. My throat was still sore.

"I could wait,"

I didn't respond to that. Thankfully, he got the message. Alpha Jake released a heavy breath, got in his car, and drove off.
