Chapter 40 - Confrontation of Shadows

With a swift motion, the wraith lunged at them, a torrent of dark energy surging forth. Litho quickly summoned the elements, creating a wall of earth to absorb the impact. The ground shook as the dark energy collided with their defenses.

"Now!" Elara shouted, releasing a volley of arrows infused with light. The arrows struck the wraith, illuminating the cavern with their brilliance. For a moment, the darkness faltered, revealing the wraith's twisted visage—a haunting reminder of Malakar's legacy.

Litho focused its energy, calling upon the elemental powers it had nurtured. "Together, we can banish this darkness!" it urged, feeling the strength of its allies beside it.

Myra unleashed a wave of light, amplifying Elara's arrows and illuminating the cavern further. The wraith shrieked, a sound filled with rage and desperation. "You cannot defeat me! I am eternal!"

But Litho would not waver. "Your time is over!" it declared, channeling the energy of the forest itself. Vines erupted from the ground, entwining the wraith and constricting its movements. The shadows writhed, but the power of their combined light pressed forward.

Gromak charged, sword drawn, and struck at the wraith. Each blow carried the weight of their determination, a culmination of their shared experiences and battles. The wraith struggled against the bonds of light, but Litho could feel its resolve weakening.

"Now! Finish it!" Elara commanded, and the group focused their energy, pouring their collective strength into a final attack. The light coalesced into a brilliant orb, illuminating the cavern as it surged toward the wraith.

With a deafening roar, the orb collided with the wraith, engulfing it in a blaze of light. The shadows shattered, disintegrating into particles of darkness that dissipated into the air. As the dust settled, a sense of calm washed over the cavern.

Panting and exhausted, Litho and its allies stood together, the remnants of darkness fading away. "We did it," Myra breathed, her eyes wide with awe.

"But we cannot rest yet," Litho reminded them. "The relic still holds power. We must secure it and ensure it cannot be used for evil again."
