We had stayed longer in the car by the roadside because I had just found out that Anthony killed my mom and I had bawled out my eyes for over an hour. Right now Kevin was also in a tight spot as I was, his mom has been taken captive by God knows who and he needs to go and save her, but here we were in the car together, Kevin comforting me. I got myself together, the longer we stayed out here, the more problems Kevin's mom was in.
"Kevin, let's go please, your mom needs you more than I do," I said, convincing him to continue driving.
I could see how hesitant he was, between driving to go save her and just being here for me.
I placed my hand on his. "It's okay, just drive please," I paused, looking into his eyes. "I wouldn't forgive myself if I found out your mom is hurt and you couldn't stop it because you were with me, so please drive okay," I said, sniffing, my voice trembling.
