Chapter 74 - Sun Rise

Akaza suddenly stopped. For a moment, the world around him seemed frozen, and the dense fog that had been enveloping his mind began to lift.

His facial expression that was usually full of fighting passion suddenly changed drastically, tension evident in every line of her face.

Akaza groaned, the sound coming out more like the roar of a wounded animal. His expression changed rapidly, the anger that erupted was like lava from a volcano, hot, destructive, and uncontrollable.

A rage that was not only directed at El, but also at himself, at the past that he had been trying to bury deep.

"Bastard!" Akaza roared hoarsely, her voice shaking the air, as if every word that came out of her mouth was fueled by a burning rage.

Although there was still a glimmer of affection for those she once loved, Akaza was far more immersed in hatred for her past weaknesses.

The painful past, which continues to haunt him. Hakuji, the figure of himself in the past, is now sneaking back out of the darkness of his mind, dragging him into memories that he wants to forget forever.

'Apparently, I have to cut off his head first, then enlighten him.' El thought with a serious expression.

In the world of Kimetsu no Yaiba, Tanjiro once beheaded and managed to bring out a glimmer of the past in Akaza, which momentarily made Akaza pensive even though his head had been cut off.

Even though at that time, Akaza had almost evolved, overcoming one of his weaknesses as a demon, decapitation and seemingly exceeding the limits of his power.

However, if El beheaded Akaza, then the result would be that the execution of the punishment from the side mission might be inevitable.

One of El's unfinished main missions was to kill 12 Kizuki, not to enlighten or make one of the 12 Kizuki accept his fate and die in a peaceful way.

El knew very well, if she completed all of her main missions, the system would give her the opportunity to stay in the Kimetsu no Yaiba World for one day or go straight to the Evaluation.

If El chose the option to rest for 1 day in Kimetsu no Yaiba World, before returning and undergoing the Evaluation in Reincarnation Room World, then the problem was that finding Infinite Castle was not as easy as one might think, much more difficult than simply picking up stones on the street.

If El chooses the option to undergo Evaluation, he will have the opportunity to return to the World of Kimetsu no Yaiba to rest for 10 days, while saving the Demon Exterminator Corps from imminent destruction.

However, there is a significant issue that needs to be taken into account, which is the time difference between the worlds he lives in.

For example, the time ratio between the Origin World and the Reincarnation Room is 1:10. This means that the 10 days El spent in the Origin World would only be equivalent to 1 day in the Reincarnation Room.

This consequence needs El to consider carefully, what if suddenly once El returns to Kimetsu no Yaiba World for a few minutes, 10 years have passed in Kimetsu no Yaiba World.

At that time, the Demon Slayer Corps would have disappeared from this world and El would not be able to save the Demon Slayer Corps from destruction.

El let out an imaginary sigh, 'I think I'm going to be the target of Akaza's anger. Though the original plan was to kill Akaza and leave the Kimetsu no Yaiba World.'

"How dare you make me remember my past, Adrian!" said Akaza, his voice like molten lava erupting, full of anger.

Akaza immediately pulled out the right arm that was trapped on El's body, but was prevented from doing so by El's overwhelming strength. Controlling the Total Breathing Technique, El controlled his muscles and hardened his flesh.

The pain was sharp, but with the Demon Hunter Mark awakened, his tolerance for pain had increased and his control of Total Breathing Concentration had greatly improved.

But even then, it wasn't enough. El's body was pierced with such a powerful force that it died a horrible death, bringing unimaginable pain.

El was able to endure such pain because he was used to the deadly wounds he had sustained in the training house. Although the wounds were virtual, the pain was very real.

There, El had been killed over a thousand times by Tanjuro Kamado. Plus, more than that by Yoriichi Tsugukuni, who ended her life in creative ways that were painful to remember.

However, Akaza did not give up. Quickly, he redirected his attack, using his left arm that was not trapped in El's body.

But, once again, El would not give in. With incredible strength, he blocked Akaza's punches with his bare hands.

The veins in Akaza's body were about to explode, straining and swelling along with the force he unleashed.

"Argh!" Akaza roared, and with all his might, Akaza tried hard to break free, forcing El to let his go.

However, Akaza did not lose her mind and used his left arm that was not stuck to El's body. However, once again El didn't let up and blocked Akaza's punches with his bare hands.

Veins seemed to explode from Akaza's body. With all his strength, Akaza tried to free herself.

"Let go of me, you bastard!" Akaza said angrily.

"Not now, later you will definitely target me, Tanjiro, Inosuke, Zenitsu, Nezuko and the victims of the Mugen train," El replied with a serious expression, full of calm.

(A/N: From here on, there will be some contradictions and instability in El's thoughts, words and actions. These are all effects of Rinnegan. Sometimes El will be too passionate and sometimes as calm as a cloudless sky).

(N/A: I think it's not so bad now. Maybe? What do you think? I've already explained the reason why El reluctantly demonstrated the Sun Breathing Style.)

Suddenly Akaza felt a deep change in the air. Something that she shouldn't be worried about, but now felt very pressing.

With eyes like the surface of a broken mirror, Akaza gazed at the skyline that had begun to turn bright blue.

In the distance, between the mountains, the sun began to rise, emitting a blinding light of hope that threatened the very existence of demons like Akaza.

Akaza's anxiety became more and more intense, like a nightmare. Anxiety that he hadn't felt in years now crept into his soul.

His body that was previously full of battle energy began to feel heavy, as if there was an invisible weight pressing on his chest.

In an instant, a deep sense of panic slowly filled Akaza's body.

"Shit!" he muttered, voice choked with fear that he couldn't hide.

Akaza stared at El with a hateful gaze, but her eyes were no longer focused on her goal to kill El as soon as possible because it made her remember her past.

Akaza's every heartbeat was filled with uncontrollable fear. His burly body trembled, not because of injury, but because of the threat from the world that always threatened his existence.

Akaza knew very well what happened at sunrise. His body and the demonic strength he boasted could not fight against the searing rays of the sun.

The horrors that Akaza had experienced if imagined became a reminder that never disappeared from her memory. "I have to go!" he shouted to himself.

Quickly, Akaza cut off his hands like a frightened lizard before a predator, he jumped back a few steps, trying to calm the heartbeat that was getting out of control.

El's sword that was stuck in Akaza's body broke, stuck, going along with him in his frightened flight.

Even though the battle against El was so fierce, even though he had been dealing with endless battles for too long, this time everything was different.

The sun, an enemy more deadly than anything else, had already risen. An enemy that would destroy him instantly, if he dared to come face to face with it alone.
