Chapter 61 - Mugen Train (l)

The following afternoon, El boarded the Mugen Train. At this moment, El was sitting in one of the passenger seats.

While sitting, El was eating the bento she bought from Fuku and her grandmother before boarding the Mugen Train. However, El was not like Kyojuro who bought all the bento that Fuku and his grandmother sold.

El's portion limit was the same as other normal people. After all, El didn't really like to eat much, unless she hadn't eaten anything all day or had eaten very little.

In other words, El was still very hungry.

El sighed. "Why are those three boys taking so long to arrive?"

"They don't want to come or something? At this rate I'll end up killing Enmu, the first-ranked lower moon demon Kizuke." muttered El in exasperation.

El closed eyes and calmed his breathing, and felt the air of existence that was just around his, by using Total Breathing Concentration to increase his sense of feeling.

Notably, this did not fall under the category of ability. As this was the result of increasing the status of the attribute value, which resulted in an increase in its physical quality.

That ability was limited, and not so amazing as Inosuke's who could detect any enemy intentions with great accuracy.

El could indeed detect killing intent, bloodlust, a person's power level and differentiate people. But, El couldn't clearly and accurately, so she did it unconsciously.

El could sense that there were a lot of people, making his sense of feeling a bit dull.

'There are a lot of people around the Mugen Train. It's a bit difficult to find the presence of certain individuals in this place that looks like a sea of people.' El thought.

Not long after, El finally vaguely sensed a very familiar presence. It wasn't just one person, but about 4 people, one of whom felt like a demon with an unbridled lust for killing.

El was familiar with that kind of existence. The owner of that existence was none other than Nezuko. Then the remaining three people were Tanjiro, Inosuke and Zenitsu.

"Oh, they're here already... " El said in a casual voice.

Finally, the presence of Tanjiro, Inosuke and Zenitsu walked closer from the direction of the Mugen Train's back door. El opened his eyes and went back to enjoying his food, while waiting for the three to approach his.

"Uncle, I've arrived. But what's wrong? Why did Uncle ask us to come to this place?" Tanjiro said in a warm voice.

Tanjiro, Inosuke and Zenitsu stood right next to El. But Zenitsu was a little different, he hid behind Tanjiro's back, breaking out in a cold sweat just looking at El.

Zenitsu's body was trembling with fear, like a kitten freezing in the rain. Zenitsu's expression seemed to be full of nightmarish trauma.

Meanwhile, behind the boar's head mask, Inosuke was smiling excitedly at the sight of El who was sitting while eating food alone looking like an ancient animal.

'What a powerful person!' Inosuke thought with a grin.

"Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Inosuke sit down first. I'll explain after I finish eating." El said, going back to eating the bento rice.

The three of them obeyed and immediately took their seats. Tanjiro sat next to El. While Zenitsu and Inosuke sat in the empty seats right across from El.

Inosuke chose to sit near the open window. Zenitsu took a seat close to Inosuke, Zenitsu could not let his guard down because Inosuke's nature was quite unsettling. The Mugen train began to move, Inosuke stuck his head out of the window.

"Uwooh, this thing is moving fast!" said Inosuke enthusiastically.

Zenitsu gasped and tried to pull Inosuke inside. "That's dangerous you idiot!"

However, Inosuke stubbornly refused to comply. "I'm going to get out and run. I'll race this thing, whichever is faster!"

"Stupid has its limits!" Zenitsu immediately responded to his friend's silliness.

El finished his bento, turning to Inosuke and Zenitsu. "Alright, I'm done eating. You three listen, we are not sightseeing, but demon hunting."

Zenitsu, who pulled Inosuke back to sit quietly, immediately turned his head with a worried expression. "Hunting demons? You must be crazy!"

"I'm not crazy, we're going demon hunting." El replied casually.

"Noooo! I'm going to die! That's for sure! I'm going to die!" said Zenitsu with fear.

Zenitsu stopped pulling Inosuke in and was so shocked, panicking with a ridiculous expression. Zenitsu screamed in terror like his life was on the line.

"There was a case, in a short period of time 40 passengers suddenly disappeared on this train. I suspect 12 Kizuki's interference." El said that calmly.

"Is that so? Alright I'll get off!" Frantically, Zenitsu replied to El's words.

From a distance, the conductor walked up to the four of them to punch their tickets.

The four each showed their tickets, Zenitsu tearfully handed over his as well. But the train's lights flickered, followed by a bad smell that Tanjiro detected. Zenitsu heard a bad sound and Inosuke prepared to draw his sword.

Meanwhile, El pretended not to know. This time, El played a little play the rules. Although he was pretending, El did not relax his supervision and prepared his sword.

El immediately stood up, Tanjiro and Inosuke also stood up and kept watch in case a demon suddenly appeared. Meanwhile, Zenitsu became even more terrified.

The train lights flickered again as a demon appeared from public view, frightening the passengers and startling the junior Demon Exterminators.

"Mr. Conductor, step aside." El said in an icy tone of voice.

A large-bodied demon appeared at the other end of the train, and El frowned thoughtfully, wondering what Breathing Style would suit the cramped quarters.

El couldn't use the powerful Sun Breathing Style in a confined place like this. Because it was possible for El to cut the roof of Mugen's carriage even though El had restrained himself.

"Kedamono no kokyū" Inosuke moved, drawing his two swords.

"Inosuke!" Worried, Tanjiro followed him, while Zenitsu, who was still afraid.

With her very characteristic expression of fear, Zenitsu held El's leg asking not to leave her.

"Ni no kiba: Kirisaki." Inosuke released a double slash with two blades in the form of an X-shaped cut.

However, suddenly the lights flickered again. The train conductor and passengers suddenly disappeared. To avoid Inosuke's slash like a little trick in card magic, the demon also disappeared.

This greatly surprised Inosuke and Tanjiro, while Zenitsu hugged El's legs tighter.

Actually, the demon did not disappear. Rather, it was hidden within the Blood Demon Art, similar to Yushiro's Blood Demon Art.

Suddenly, the train lights flickered and the demon reappeared on the other side of the train wall. Inosuke was about to launch another slash, but El moved much faster like a blink of an eye.

El exhaled her breath and said in a tone of voice like a rushing river. "Mizu no kokyū."

"Ichi no kata: Minamo Giri." El released a single horizontal slash that decapitated the demon.

Slash!

A flash of cold light was created from El's sword slash. Flowing water manifested as soon as the slash was released.

The demon's head was cut off and floated several times in the air. It finally fell and rolled on the floor of the Mugen Carriage.

Slowly the demon's body staggered and finally fell, burning until it disappeared like dust in the wind.

Tanjiro, Zenitsu and Inosuke were amazed at El's sword skills. Especially Tanjiro who was really amazed because it turned out that El could also use the Water Breathing Style, even stronger than the one he used.

"Uwooh, uncle can use the Water Breathing Style!" said Tanjiro in awe.

"Cool, very powerful slash!" Inosuke replied to Tanjiro's words, praising El enthusiastically.

Shamelessly, Zenitsu moved and hugged El's legs. "Great! I feel so safe!"

"Be careful, the demon illusion is still active. This means there is more than one demon." El said looking at Tanjiro, Inosuke and Zenitsu.

Hearing El's warning, Tanjiro held his sword tightly, preparing to attack the demon. Tanjiro also uses a very sharp sense of smell to distinguish the scents in the air.

As such, it can track the demon's location with terrifying accuracy from a great distance, easily distinguishing even the most subtle types of scents.
