After a few minutes, the guard returned, forcibly dragging a man whose head was covered with a rough sackcloth. As the man was pushed into the room and the sack was pulled off, Davina's eyes welled up with tears at the sight of her brother. "Gerrick!" she cried out, rushing to embrace him. "Oh, thank god you're alive." she cried into his arms.
Gerrick tried to remain strong as he embraced his sister. "I'm okay, Davy," he reassured her. "They didn't do anything to me."
Davina wiped her tears and surveyed every inch of his body to ensure they didn't harm him in any way. "Are you sure?" she looked at him in disbelief, refusing to come to terms with the fact that he looked as healthy as a horse despite being in captivity for a couple of weeks.
