Li Shenrong woke up and found himself tied up with a treasure rope.
His cultivation was sealed completely.
I fell asleep and some sneaky rats managed to abduct me. Sigh, cultivating the Nirvanic Arts were truly a huge burden on my mind. Didn't even realise i was being abducted. Li Shenrong couldn't help but chuckle that someone really dared to sneak inside his room and abducted him in his sleep.
He looked around and found many ruined buildings which had been destroyed long ago. Currently he was tied up tightly with a stone pillar, the rope that was used to tie him was also something very pricey. He didn't try to break free but kept observing the surroundings with a curious gaze.
Suddenly, footsteps could be heard. Li Shenrong looked ahead and saw an old man appearing. He recognised the old man because he was the 'Happy Inn' owner.
"You woke up." The old man looked very haggard and weak. He was thin and skinny as if even a strong wind could blow him away.
"Tell me, how does it feel to become a rat." Li Shenrong chuckled as he looked at him.
The old man didn't reply nor get angry, he stared at Li Shenrong intently.
"It has been a long time since i have last seen it." He spoke in a hoarse voice.
Li Shenrong became surprised by this. Someone in this continent actually knows about the Nirvanic arts? It was indeed something unexpected.
"What are you talking about old man?" But he pretended to be confused and asked.
The old man ignored him and kept talking. "How much blood has been shed? How many geniuses fell and how many bodies were crushed in that battle? At that time, for an incomplete art, the whole lower plain went crazy. Emperor's were like duckweeds, one fell after another, river of blood turned into an ocean. That battle lasted for entire fifty thousand years and an entire era was razed to the ground. World itself cried bitter tears of blood. I was fortunate enough to glance at it from afar, with just one glance, it was carved inside my very soul that i would never forget." He spoke slowly and eloquently with closed eyes. After he finished, he turned around his stiff neck and looked at Li Shenrong with a strange glimmer.
"Now, it appeared again on you. Tell me, where did you find it?" He asked.
A boom sound exploded, the void almost shattered like glass. Sun and moon dimmed down, losing its brilliance. Stars fell in the sky, signaling the end of the world. The world itself swayed like a small boat amidst the stormy ocean. The old man was so mighty that his stares alone could give birth to countless worlds and recreate them.
If there was any other cultivator facing the old man, even nine lives wouldn't be enough and would've died countless times over by now. But unfortunately this was Li Shenrong.
What kind of mighty cultivator he hadn't seen? What kind of emperor he hadn't slain? Be it a divine dragon or a heavenly lord all were just ants in the grand scheme of things.
Facing the world ending pressure, Li Shenrong let out a faint smile.
"You want this art?" He asked. Li Shenrong understood, after all this was the complete Nirvana Arts, not just an incomplete one. Arts of Nirvana was known as the epitome of cultivation, it stayed supreme, enigmatic and mysterious throughout the eons. Countless people could only dream about it. How could someone resist its temptation?
The old man didn't answer but directly grabbed him by the neck. Li Shenrong was like a chicken without any slightest strength to resist.
"I shall search your memory." The old man said as his eyes glowed with strange lights.
Li Shenrong's eyes turned cold. His sea of memories was something forbidden, it held countless secrets which he never told anyone. But now someone was trying to search his memories? And that was jus Courting death!
But Li Shenrong didn't do anything. He let that old man enter his sea of memories.
At that moment, what the old man saw will remain unforgettable till his death.
"Arghhhhh…." The old man screamed in fear. He threw away Li Shennrong and jumped back like he had just witnessed something terrifying.
"You…you!! What are you!!…" He screamed in fear, pointing at Li Shenrong. His hands and feets were still shaking, he stuttered as he spoke. Because he had witnessed something he should never have.
Li Shenrong has already released himself from the soul binding chain. He stood with hands behind his back, gazing at the old man coldly.
"Daring to enter my sea of memories? Humph! That was just you courting death. If not me showing mercy, you would've died without an intact corpse." He coldly uttered.
The old man came back to his senses and realised the young man infront of him wasn't just a heaven's chosen child. He was a peerless expert walking around the mundane world. And not just any expert, he was someone…. He didn't dare to even think about it.
The old man had lived through countless era's and experienced many things. He took a deep breath and calmed himself after a long time.
He solemnly stood up and prostrated on the ground infron of Li Shenrong.
"This junior had eyes but was blind to see your majestic bearing. I beg your forgiveness my lord." The old man said as his head hit the ground with loud 'Thud.'
"Out of respect for your contribution to the Sword sea continent, I shall spare your life." Li Shenrong said with an indifferent expression.
The old man's tensed body loosened slightly, he kept thanking Li Shenrong profusely.
"Take me outside." Li Shenrong ordered.
The old man agreed without hesitation. He waved his hand and a space gate was ripped open.
Li Shenrong stepped into the space gate with the old man following suit.
Sunlight fell on his handsome face as he appeared on the Sword sea continent again.
