"Argh, it hurts. My head is hurting so much…." A young man woke up from his senseless state and grabbed his head in pain. His face turned twisted in agony.
Where am i? He looked around and found himself lying on a garbage dump.
A foul stench assaulted his nose almost making him vomit.
Why am i here?
I remember now. I was on my way to the association to test my awakened superpower but someone hit me from behind, after that i lost my consciousness.
Now i am lying on a garbage dump? Clearly an attempt to murder.
But who would want to kill an average lowkey guy like me?
All kind of thoughts flashed across his mind as he touched his head.
There was a lump on his head still bleeding.
Ignoring the disgusting smell and dump, the young man stood up slowly.
With ragged breathing, he leaned against the wall and closed his eyes. His faint movements went unnoticed on the quiet alleyway.
I can not move, i need to call for help.
The young man searched his pocket and pulled out a cellphone.
"Damn it, dead battery."

Suddenly a mechanical female voice rang out inside his mind which made him jolt awake .
[Host Detected.]

The young man opened his eyes and saw a transparent blue panel floating infront of him. The blue panel was solid to the touch.
What is this! System? Host? Path toward greatness? Am I hallucinating?
But the severe pain coming from his head made him understand that it wasn't hallucination.
Subconsciously he clicked YES.
[Host agreed to walk toward the path of greatness.]
[System integration completed.]
[Now the host can view his current status and progress.]

He subconsciously said yes. Then the panel infront of him changed again.

Simon looked at the status panel and felt his heart beating faster.
Hahaha i can't believe it. I gained a system and can make a comeback with this.
Umm let's see.
The systems voice rang out again.

Do you want to use the systems one time healing effect?]
Simon didn't even take time to think before saying yes.
Suddenly yellow light enveloped Simon's whole body. Simon started feeling comfortable all over and the pain vanished almost instantly.
So magical! Simon became surprised. He saw his HP reached [10/10.]
He stretched out his hands and legs without any pain. He touched his head and saw there was no injury as if it never existed.
"How do i used the devour skill?" Simon called out system panel again and asked curiously.
Something strange emerged inside his mind. He started to gain understanding toward the skill [Devour.]
After a few moment Simon opened his eyes with a smile. He walked forward in silence and left the dimly lit alleyway.

"Simon? What did you do? Were you rolling inside a garbage dump?" As soon as Simon enetered the house, his mothers scolding voice rang in his ears.
"Mother i…" Simon laughed awkwardly.
"Stop standing there and get a shower. Don't dirty the floor!" She interrupted him with a glare and said fiercely.
Simon nodded his head and ran away quickly as if afraid of being scolded again.
Upon entering shower he called out system panel again.
A transparent blue panel appeared in his view.
Phew, Its still here. I thought it would vanish. Simon chuckled as he kept observing his status.
Tomorrow i will go to the association again and get a superhuman certificate. After becoming a certified superhuman i can hunt monsters and beasts to level up.
Simon started laughing inwardly.

Next day.
Simon was panting heavily as he gasped for air.
"Damn it, I overslept and missed the bus." After a few seconds of rest he started running again.
While running, Simon called out the system again and checked his status.
To his surprise, his agility increased from three to four.
Doing basic exercise also increase my stats? Thinking this, Simon started running more vigorously.
Sometime he would bump on some people but he kept running without any care.
His eyes shined again when he saw his agility point increase again.

I can feel my speed increasing. This feeling is really intoxicating.
After an hour of running, Simon's agility reached 6 point. He closed the system panel and looked at the huge building infront of him.
White Tiger Association.
He took in a breath of turbid air and stepped inside the building.
Rows after rows of crowd entered his view. The building was flooded with people.
"Excuse me, can you please tell me how to apply for a superhuman certificate?" Simon asked a guard nearby.
The guard exuded powerful aura as he looked at Simon.
"Are you a newly awakened?" The guard spoke in a cold voice.
"Yes." Simon nodded, he could almost feel his heart palpitating just by standing near the guard.
So strong! What rank is he? Simon exclaimed inwardly.
"Do you have the beginner awakening card?" The guard asked again.
"Beginner awakening card? No, I don't have it." Simon replied.
"Then get in line. As a newly awakened superhuman you need to get yourself a beginner awakening card. After that you can apply for a superhuman certificate." The guard spoke and turned away, not giving him any chance to say something else.
Simon thanked him and got in line.
