The high pitched whining of the nightingale was carried with a slow rhythm, light drizzles did nothing to stop the bird's symphony as it sang its melancholic tune. A raging storm was fast approaching, the winds howled in agony as the rain clouds pelted their tears at the earth; yet the changes outside did little to disrupt the pair of lover's wrapped in each others warm embrace. The air stank of sweat and lingering passion, the only sound in the quiet room their heavy,ragged breathing. A soft glow illuminated from the lamp on the bedside's table cast various shadows on the two figures. Jiand Xia felt utterly tired, her body ached and her throat sore from the activity they both partook in, still her smile was as wide as ever. When she leaned into the man's touch he wrapped his strong arms around her, pulling her closer to his bare chest. He nuzzled into her neck and started placing soft kisses against her porcelain skin, his stubble scratched her skin lightly as he continued his gentle ministrations. The once white sheets were now stained crimson, but neither of them minded.The rain rattled the window, disturbing the peaceful quiet that had settled over them both. Outside the door stood a lone figure in black. Her tears fell silently as she stood there and watched her husband of four years roll in the sheets with her half sister. She felt dizzy and nauseous, having come here immediately after her plane had landed. Not bearing to see more she rushed away,running into the night. The storm gave a great, loud cry and marched forward;covering the once black sky in a grey blanket. The wailing wind slapped her hard with a cold gust of breeze, chilling her to the bone. The rain, relentless in its attack, drowned out the last notes of the nightingale and mingled with the tears flowing down her face. She was freezing and drenched yet she didn't stop running, her mind kept replaying the scene she witnessed, over and over again like a broken record player. She ran further from here home, her body moving with a mind of its own.The persistent downpour clouded her line of vision as she ran into a roadway before;
"CRASH!"
She collided with a silver Toyota, sending her weak body flying through the air and landing far away with a loud thud.She lay their, cold and in pain as the warm substance leaked out and pooled around her. Her eyelids felt heavy, her vision swimming in darkness.The last thing she saw was her wedding ring and a fresh wave of anger and despair welled up in her heart. A bright light pierced through the fleeting rain and shone down on her limp body. A shadowy creature, cloaked in darkness perched on a nearby tree. Its feathers shimmered with rain drops and its tar-like eyes stared right into her hazel ones. As her eyes finally dropped shut the nightingale's song rang out once more, sad...tired and yet oh so beautiful.
