Chapter 15 - Black Island Mafia

Among the 9 islands gifted to the new Sowei State by Francis Gaspar, the current King of Austria, is a very elusive one.

Black Island.

The second-to-last island from the shore of mainland Soweiland, home to some of the most hardened criminals and sketchy backdoor businesses in all of eastern Europe.

Currently ruling the island is the criminal organisation known to most simply as the Black Island Mafia. Currently they have a visitor, who is none other than Francis Gaspar himself, leading the operation to relocate all the Austrian Citizens back to the mainland.

Being informed of all the commotion at the docks, the leader of the Black Island Mafia, the Big Tony Tuscan himself arrives to greet his guest.

"So..." He says when he spots Francis. "Pops dies and now his sonny comes here in person to deal with the 'problem'?" He asks the man, smirking.

"It's already been dealt with, Tony. And by dealt with, I obviously mean it's not my problem anymore; your operation is on Soweiland soil." Francis explained, returning the smirk. Tony had stopped smiling.

"So ya just up and ditched me? After all the agreements we made with your old man?" Tony asked, distraught.

"I never liked you that much Lil Tony." Francis mocks the imposing man. "On and your citizenship?" He says as he pulls out a paper and a  lit matchstick. "Whoops!"

In a matter of seconds, the paper goes up in flames and turns to ash.

"Obviously you can tell your big guys that their citizenships are also gone. I just didn't have enough matches to burn all of them here."

"You don't wanna mess with me, little guy. I can ask for your head and I'll have it stuffed with rice and veggies by next week!" Tony threatened him.

"Oh, enough with the empty threats! Think positively for once in your miserable life! Now instead of me, the people in charge of the country are inexperienced soldiers. You're moderately smart, you'll figure something out."

Tony simply looked at the blue waters in the distance and pondered.

"I wish you bad luck Tony! Hopefully you'll finally meet your match!" Francis shouted as his boat started and he left the island, eventually disappearing into the distance and leaving the mob boss with his thoughts.

"Heh. I can work with dat." Tony said to himself as he looked at the leaving boat going into the sunset.

7 days later...

Aaron Knoxx, the Enforcer, and his buddies Carter Jeeves and Craig had just arrived in the Soweiland port town, Pastel.

"So, Craig, you said you'd be picked up by that weirdo company?" Aaron asked.

"Yeah." Craig said.

"Well, I think I see your ride dude. It's been fun. See ya round!" Aaron said as Craig turned around to see a ginormous dark gray ship with a big red 'A' logo plastered everywhere.

"Yeah!" Craig said, and started running towards the giant battleship.

"What about you Jeeves, where you going now?" Aaron asked the remaining person.

"I will be heading into a secret port, where I will be picked up by one of my boss' emissaries."

"Say, who is that boss anyway? You keep talking about him, but you never say anything more..."

"Well, since you aided my escape from prison, I suppose I owe you that much." Carter said, then cleared his throat and began explaining.

"While to you I am simply Carter Jeeves, to my boss and our organisation I am going under the alias "Mr. Butler". I am a high-ranking member of the-"

"The Black Island Mafia. I know who.you are, we've met before this..."

"We have?" Jeeves asked, puzzled.

"Yes, when I first started out as the Enforcer, my old boss, Fred Gaspar, was having a meeting with your Boss, and I saw you waiting in the hallway." Aaron explained.

"How do you remember that? That was three years ago!"

"Strong memory is key in this line of work."

"Well, moving on, you obviously know about my boss, the Big Tuscan. He's not directly involved with the mafia stuff most of the time, but he helps cover us up with his Little Fish casino. I'm his personal butler when I'm not off on missions, and that's how we met."

"Tony Tuscan is the Big Tuscan?" Aaron exclaimed, but then he thought about it for a second. "Okay in retrospect I guess it makes a lot of sense. How hasn't he been caught yet?"

"The name Big Tuscan is only used in underground circles; the public doesn't know about it. And even if they did the boss has a superb team of lawyers on standby at all times."

"So if Tony doesn't lead, then who does?" Aaron asked, eager to learn more.

"I'm afraid I've said too much. My boat is almost here as well."

"Well, I was hoping I could join you. As you know I'm a little stagnant right now, and I'm interested in working with the Black Island Mafia."

"I suppose it wouldn't hurt. You did help getting me here. Come on." Jeeves said, and when the boat docked they both went on.

"Since You're coming with, may as well finish my explanation" Jeeves said on the boat.

"SPEAK UP GUY, I CAN'T HEAR A THING!" Aaron yelled.

"Don't yell! Jeez..."

"My bad, bro. Carry on!"

"Well the person in charge is Tony's right hand, The Man with No Name, Jimmy Falcone." Jeeves continued explaining.

"Why do they call him that if he has a name?"

"He doesn't have an alias like we do. His identity is known to the public, and he takes pride in not having to hide behind a nickname."

"Sounds dope."

"He's the one you'll speak to when we arrive..."

When the pair arrived at the mafia hideout, everything was in chaos. People were running left and right, papers flying everywhere.

"Is it usually like this?" Aaron asked.

"Rarely. Something must have occurred while we were away." Jeeves explained. "Jimmy's office is down this hall, follow me."

As they arrived in front of the large metal door, Carter turned to talk to a guy that was there. He was short, with a combover and no facial hair.

"What happened here Lanos?"

"It's all chaos Monsieur Butler. Monsieur Tony has gone the ballistic. Are ya here to talk to Monsieur No-Name?"

"Not me, my friend. I'll sit out here while you explain to me what's going on."

"Of course. Monsieur No-Name is available."

Aaron pushed the door open and walked into the room. It was dimly lit, the only light source being some candles. There was a desk in the middle with a bottle of red wine and a glass on it, as well as a clapboard and a pen. Sitting on the desk was a middle-aged man, with balding grey hair, a silly mustache and a golden tooth. He looked like a caricature more than anything.

"Who's you supposed to be?" He asked once he saw Aaron.

"I'm Aaron Knoxx, but you may know me as the Enforcer."

"Who?" Jimmy asked as he raised an eyebrow.

"You know? The Enforcer? Worked with Fred Gaspar? Killed three people with a single bullet? Come on man you know who I am!"

"Oh yeah! Aaron Knoxx! How did ya find this place?"

"I just came here with Mr. Butler. I helped him break out of jail. And I have a business proposition."

"Oh yeah? An' what may that be?"

"Well, Fred Gaspar is dead." Aaron started explaining.

"Trust me, we know." Jimmy deadpanned.

"And my services are free. So I was hoping I could be your group here's personal gun."

"You wanna work for us?"

"I wanna work with you. I'm an independent contractor. You can just give me a guy to kill, I'll do it every time no questions asked, and you'll pay me a sum. How's that sound?" Aaron explained .

"Why would I hire you? I know how to shoot a gun." Jimmy asked.

"Maybe, but can you shoot a guy two miles away through a window and make it seem like someone from inside the room did it?"

"No. You gotta lot of spunk to come in here an' ridicule me for a job. Y'know I could kill you right now?"

"I'm aware yes."

"I like that in a guy. You're on, Knoxx! We'll write you when the Boss wants to speak with you. He handles independent contractors."

"Awesome! Thanks Jim! I owe ya one!" Aaron said and he left the room. Outside, Carter and Lanos were done talking about the situation and had moved on to talking about Jake from the casino's sick grandma.

"How'd it go?" Carter asked when he saw Aaron.

"Great. Apparently I need to talk to your boss before I can do anything though." Aaron said.

"Well, if you need any help when that day comes, just talk to me, aight?"

"Don't worry about it, you've done enough. I got this in the bag. Only one small problem."

"What would that be?" Carter curiously asked.

"Where will I sleep now!?"
